"I don't get it!" Ro said, looking at her newly purple nails, which she had made Keefe paint for her. "Why would you and Prettyboy break up?"
Sophie winced- just like Ro to bring up an uncomfortable subject in the middle of something important.
"It- um- it just didn't work out." she muttered. "Whatever- we have more important stuff to talk about. Like why Keefe was covered in some strange galactic goop of some sort- and what it did to him- and how he's recovering- if he's recovering- hopefully he's recovering- I hope he's recovering- we need to check on him- we should bring him a gift- I hope Elwin is taking good care of him-"
"You're always so adorable when you worry, you know that, Blondie? Relax. We can go check on him right-"
Sophie was already out of the room, zooming to the Healing Center, where she used to go almost every day.
"KEEFE!" she screamed, flinging her arms round him, then pulling back slowly to see him.
"Keefe?" she stood, waiting for one of his usual jokes. She knew he wouldn't, but... it was disappointing all the same.
"ELWIIIIIIIIIIIN!!!!!!!!!" she charged into the small corner where Elwin was mixing elixirs and said, "WHAT'S OUR PROGRESS ON KEEEFE?!"
Elwin gestured towards the bed. "I'm about to give him an elixir that should at least get him talking and cracking jokes in a few month- I MEEEEAAAAAAN days! Days- yup- totally." he attempted to turn back to his elixirs but Sophie whipped his head round.
"NOWAYICAN'TLIVEWITHOUTKEEFEFORTHATLONGNOONECANHE'SALWAYSSOCOMFORTINGANDYOUHAVETOFINDOUTHOWTOSAVEHIMORELSEWEAREALLGONNAKILLKADYGISELAITHINKICANHANDLEEXILEIHAVEBEENTHEREBEFOREPLUSIT'SNOLONGERAPUNISHMENTSO-"
Elwin stared at Sophie and muttered," Keefe isn't the only one who needs medicine here."
Sophie stormed out of the Healing Center, leaving a laughing Elwin behind her.
But when she went back into Havenfield, she saw the most unlikely person kneeling at Ro's feet, begging for mercy...
