It had been a few days since Pouncepaw's death, but no new Medicine Cat Apprentice had been announced. Honeypaw looked over to see Jaggedwhisker on the highrock. She walked over, wondering what was going on.
Jaggedwhisker began, "Ever since the loss of Pouncepaw, we had no Medicine Cat apprentice. I have discussed with Flowerwish, and Leafpaw shall be the new Medicine Cat apprentice." He jumped off the Highrock.
Leafpaw gasped in shock, "Me!? But why? I have no Medicine Cat training! I haven't even been to the Moon Cave!!" "It's ok. I'll teach you everything about being a Medicine Cat." Flowerwish said in a calm tone. Leafpaw took a deep breath, and let it out.
"I'm not done yet." Jaggedwhisker hissed "I will be sending out a patrol to find Dovestar. Rainpaw, Firescratch, and Sealight." Jaggedwhisker then jumped off the high rock. Honeypaw was surprised he had chosen, her sister, her dad, and some random cat. Violetwing brushed against Honeypaw's fur, "Were going to do training with Otterpaw and Stormflight." Honeypaw brightened up.
At the Sun-Drown Place..
"Were here, Stormflight and Otterpaw should be coming very soon." Violetwing explained. Honeypaw nodded in agreement, then she turned her head to see Stormflight and Otterpaw. "Hi Honeypaw!" Otterpaw ran over to his friend. Honeypaw turned her head to her mentor, "So what are we doing?" "Basic battle skills." Answered Violetwing.
"Me and Violetwing will keep track of your movement, don't go too harsh. You may begin." Stormflight commanded. Honeypaw narrowed her eyes and got in a battle stance, Otterpaw did the same. Honeypaw took the first move and pounced onto Otterpaw, sinking her teeth in. Otterpaw then shook her off and pushed her to the ground. Before Honeypaw could get up Otterpaw picked her up her scruff and threw her down in the sand. Honeypaw got off and shook of the sand quickly, then charging towards him.
Before Honeypaw could push him down he swiftly jumped over her, but then landed into the water. Honeypaw ran over and pulled him out of water, "You really think that's a smart move?" Honeypaw teased. Otterpaw shook off the water and pinned Honeypaw down, Honeypaw kicked him up and got up. Otterpaw then got up too.
"Did we do good?" Honeypaw asked. Violetwing and Stormflight nodded.
