When the school day had come to an end she waited outside of school near the benches, to wait for Jake.
She took her phone out from her pocket and proceeded to message Alex.
"Are you okay now? Everything is going to be okay, trust me X'
As Stephanie was transfixed on her phone she didn't notice Jake walking up to her.
He tapped her on the shoulder to get her attention.
She jumped slightly not expecting anyone to disturb her. "Oh sorry Jake, didn't see you there." She said locking her phone screen and placing it back into her pocket.
"So shall we walk to my place then?" Jake questioned.
"Yeah sure."
The pair walked off towards Jake's house. For a frw minutes very little conversation was made between the two, they both walked awkwardly along the sidewalk looking down at their feet.
Jake moved his hand towards Stephanie's hand and slid it into his.
Stephanie allowed the gesture but didn't respond in a specific way, she kept quiet. It didn't take them long to arrive at the boy's house as it wasn't very far from the school.
They walked up the path to the house and Jake took his keys out his letterman jacket pocket.
Steph noticed he had a small football keyring and a keychain with a picture of him and his team mates. They walked into the house, it was clean, pristine and organised. Jake placed his keys on a hook screwed into the wall next to the door and walked into the lounge.
Stephanie followed and looked atound at the white and lilac colour scheme that decorated the room.
"Sit down make yourself at home, there's no one in by the way my brother is at work and my mom and dad are also at work. So its just us.' Jake gave a smile. "I'm just going to the kitchen do you want anything? A drink maybe?"
"Please, if you dont mind." Stephanie sat down on the white sofa and placed her backpack at the side of her on the floor.
She felt her phone buzz in her pocket and she took it out to see Mr Gaskarth had replied.
'I'm okay now, thanks x'
She put her phone on the sofa and folded her arms.
Jake walked back in with two cans of coke and place them on the coffee table infront of the sofa.
He sat down next to Stephanie.
"So, what exactly did you need help with then?"
Stephanie questioned unfolding her arms and picking up the can and opening it.
"I dont really want help with anything, it was just as excuse to get you around at my place." Jake mumbled.
"Oh..."
"Well you can help me if you want I don't mind really." He added.
"Oh okay I'll just get out my maths texts books." She placed down her drink and reached into her bag pulling out a large maths textbook and a notepad full of notes on algebra and pythagoras theorem.
"Wow that's a big book... why does math have to have so many complicating things in it?" Jake said picking up the book and flicking through the pages.
"Anything in particular you dont understand?" Steph said picking out a pen ready to write notes.
"Er... trigonometry, that shit fucks me up." Jake chuckled.
"Ah thats pretty simple when you get the hang of it."
