Chapter 5: Who is the tiger?

...ring...

...ring...

A hand pick-up the phone. "Yes, what's the update?" The owner of the voice asked.

"Sir... our new employees reported today and as per your order they are sent to their respective departments and offices." The HR officer responded. She is actually talking to her boss, the company president.

"How about our new project manager, did he report already?"

"Yes sir. I already sent him to his own office. The one you told me to give him. I am also sending his assistant right now."

"Ok."

"Is there anything I can help you with sir."

"That's it for now." The phone call was then dropped and the president stands from his seat and walks out of his office.

"Sir where are you going? Do you need something that I can help you with?" His secretary asked when she noticed that her boss walks out of his office.

"Ahm... no need I will just check some of the floors if everything is going well or there are some who are lacking as early as this time of the day."

"Then, I will accompany you sir."

"No need I don't want to create clamor to our employees. I want them to think that I am just passing by." He went to the elevator heading somewhere in the lower floors until he reached the 6th floor. Employees who saw him got shocked seeing him this early but then he just keeps on walking to his preferred destination. When he is getting near to his destination he saw a guy which he thinks a new employee or the assistant assigned to his prey but what comes next is what he never expected.

He grits his teeth and clinches his fist as he witnesses the door opens and Bai LouYin stands there as the new employee jumps in excitement and hugs him. What makes him angrier is the wide smile on Bai LouYin's face as this motherf*cker hugs him joyously and he is reacting positively. His eyes turn from big to open a little and his brows furrowed.

He went back to his office with an angry face that makes his secretary wonder. From a happy face before leaving switches to an angry one. "Sir did someone lacks off in their work that you have found out this morning?" She asked.

"No... just bring me an ice-cold tea or a glass of cold water." He responded.

The secretary knew that whenever her boss asked for a glass of cold drink he is surely angry so she quietly walks in to the pantry and get him what he asked for. When she went inside his boss' office she saw him sitting on his chair with his head leaning back and his eyes close. Though he is looking damn fine good she can see how angry her boss is. "I'll just place your cold drink sir." And the secretary placed the tray with the water on the table at the middle of the office and leaves right away.

As he leans back on his chair with his eyes close he can still clearly picture out what he witnessed a while ago in Bai LouYin's office. Bai LouYin's office wall is a made of glass where the center part has a frosted horizontal design and the top and bottom area which is transparent making anyone inside still visible from the outside.

He saw how Bai LouYin moved closer to his assistant and hold his hands and then later on the other guy hugged him tight again and Bai LouYin did not even budge to resist. This scenario adds more to his anger... and jealousy.

So what really happens inside Bai LouYin's office:

Bai LouYin and YuChang sits facing each other.

"I am so happy that we will be working together. And what's more surprising is that we will be working as partners." Bai LouYin happily talked.

"I'm happy too Yinzi you're my immediate superior since I'll be your assistant." YuChang responded.

"YuChang... look at me." Bai LouYin hold YuChang's hand together and looks straight in YuChang's eyes. "When we are working, we are partners. When we are out there with them you can call me Bai LouYin or Yinzi. When we are alone away from our co-workers and other people we are the friends we used to be. Ok."

"But Yinzi, you're my boss." YuChang replied.

"I know. But remember that we are friends first before we come to this position. And anyway we are just both receiving our salary and I am not the one giving you that. So please let's just treat each other as the way we used to be when we are alone. Maybe when we are working we have to draw some line but remember that we are partners and we are working together as one. Ok! Are we fine now?"

"Ok. Thank you Yinzi." YuChang hugs him tight again.

After getting acquainted again and meet some of their colleagues within their floor they had their lunch in the company canteen at the 4th floor where they meet more of them too.

Before 2pm they head to the conference room to attend the meeting about different project proposals sent to the company. By 2pm sharp almost everyone is there and they can actually start with the meeting but they are still having little chats before they formally begin especially knowing that they have new colleagues.

As they are happily getting to know each other, one of the doors opened and they all look at the guy walking in and when they realized who he is they all stand-up and greets him. Since Bai LouYin is still new he follows them and when he looked at the face of their so-called boss he suddenly went still from his position as his greetings stop half-way. "Good after..."

His boss looks straight in his eyes meeting his.

He talks in his mind. "The f*ck he's my boss?? I'm screwed."
