The next morning, Harry woke up to his alarm with an ache on his side. He realized how uncomfortable his sleeping position was, but he never noticed for he was busy with the ocean of thoughts in his head. The time was 5:30 am according to the wall clock. It was the first day of classes and he had Defense Against the Dark Arts first up. Harry went to his wardrobe, fished out his uniform and exited his room to go to the bathroom. He opened the knob, mindlessy walked in and wasn't aware of the sound of water showering down. Then came a deafening screech.

"Harry! What are you doing in here!" screamed a clearly horrified Hermione. Harry couldn't believe it. He got a glimpse of her best friend before swiftly turning away.

"I-uh-sorry I didn't know. I'll leave now," said Harry, stumbling at each word, he didn't know what to say. After all he just saw his bestfriend bare. He quickly got out of the bathroom and slammed the door shut behind him. Next time he was to shower, he noted to himself that he would knock.

After a few painful minutes of waiting, Hermione opened the door. She raised both eyebrows, wore a mask of embarrassment and stared at Harry, who was equally embarrassed.

"I'm sorry I should've knocked," He couldn't think of any other things to say. He could not bear to look into her eyes, and looked at her cheeks instead. He saw that Hermione's cheeks has gone from fair to bright pink.

"I should've remembered to lock the door," nodded Hermione, "This never happened. You just came in and saw nothing." But Harry did see something. He saw everything and felt his own cheeks heat up.

"I saw nothing, honestly." Harry lied but he was not sure if it was rather convincing. With that, they exchanged awkward smiles and parted ways. He entered the room and hopped into the shower. He switched the temperature of the shower to the middle and thought of what just happened. Harry listed actions he must remember to prevent it from happenning again. Knock, wait for an answer, knock again to make sure, wait for answer then enter.

Harry slid into his clothes, buttoned up his white collared shirt, tied his scarlet and gold tie, wore his black robe and exited the bathroom. There was no sign of Hermione so he assumed she has left to go find Ron or left for breakfast. He decide he would go there too. Not because he's hungry, but instead to find Ginny. Harry brought his satchel with his books in it so as not to come back again to pick them up after breakfast and opened the main door, shutting it behind him. He made his way through hallways occupied with a few students in little groups. He stopped in his tracks as he saw a glimpse of ginger hair and walked towards it. To his belief, it was Ginny.

"Harry Potter! I have been looking everywhere for you!" Great, it was only half past seven in the morning and he has already been shouted at by two girls. He soon brought his attention to Ginny's teasing chuckle and soon after their lips met. He felt her arms huddle close to his chest as innocent and fragile as they can be then broke their kiss apart. "So what classes do you have today?"

"Got Defense Against the Dark Arts first up then Potions, Transfiguration and History of Magic." Harry grunted at the last part. His first full day here and already have his least favourite subject. Ginny snaked her hand to his and laced their fingers together. They strolled through the hallways and arrived at the Great Hall for breakfast. Harry and Ginny sat across Ron and Hermione as usual and ate few of the many choices of food. There were chocolate chip muffins, bacon strips, fried eggs and many more plated infront of them. After breakfast was over it was time for the first lesson of the day to start. He didn't remember to ask neither Ron nor Hermione what classes they had today so he will just have to figure out for himself.

He entered the classroom and saw that they were having the class with the Slytherins. He also saw Ron and Hermione seated next to each other, talking with no available seats near them, leaving Harry to find a seat elsewhere. There was an empty chair diagonal to Draco so he sat there instead. Harry could feel himself heating up, his jaw tighten, his hands clenched into fists. A pang of jealousy rose within him, although he tried hard not to show it.

Harry gazed once again at his two bestfriends three seats away. Now that they are a couple, they spent less time with him and more time with eachother. His rising anger was interrupted soon after by none other than Draco Malfoy.

"Hey Potter, came to sit here instead of with those two, have you?" said Draco with a hint of tease.

"Listen Malfoy I'm not up for this right now." replied an annoyed Harry. He was glad that Draco and him were not in the worst place anymore because at what he said, the boy nodded his head and no longer bothered him with the subject. The class went on like a blur for Harry and soon the lesson was over. He was nearly the first one to exit the classroom and on his way out he heard Ron's voice.

"Harry! Mate I didn't see you were in this class?" said the boy with ginger hair.

"Yeah well recently, no one has except, well, Malfoy." Harry bit his lip to calm himself.

"Oh, you two best of friends now aren't you?" Ron said sarcastically at Harry who clearly wanted to get away.

"Yeah. I'll see you guys around." said Harry and with that he trotted off to his next class, disappearing into the corner and leaving a puzzled Ron and Hermione.

The rest of his classes felt the same as the first one. A blur. Before he knew it, Harry was on his way to his dormitory. He whispered the password to the door and as soon as he entered, he headed straight for his room. He was glad it was time for dinner, he wouldn't have to see Ron nor Hermione for a while until the dinner has finished. Harry wasn't sure of what to do other than lay on his bed and ignore the rumbling of his stomach. His not-wanting-to-see anyone has helped him forget about his hunger. He looked sideways to the wall with a clock dangling on it. It was 6:17 pm. The dinner must have started by now.

He thought of what a strange day he had so far. He was interuppted by three unexpected knocks on his door. He knew at once it was Hermione. At his silence, Hermione opened the door. She sat beside him at the edge of his bed, her back towards him. Hermione faced his way and stayed silent for a while as if thinking of what to say.
"Harry...I realized that you feel, excluded, from me and Ron...We didn't mean to hurt you-"

"Don't say you're sorry you did nothing wrong." interfered Harry, he just needed to be alone right now. But of course, Harry knows well that Hermione wasn't the type to give up.
"Well I obviously did judging from the way you're acting lately."
"Hermione I just want to be alone, honestly I feel fine."
"Harry-"
"I WANT TO BE ALONE HERMIONE JUST PLEASE LEAVE!" Harry demanded, before anything worse could happen. But of course, it did. Hermione gave a stern look at Harry. Hermione knew Harry all too well. She should be used to his sudden outbursts by now, apparently not. Her throat felt as if it was on flames, stinging for no apparent reason. Hermione already knew this feeling. She felt this many times. All of them when she was broken into tears.

Harry stayed dead silent as Hermione pushed herself off the bed and left him without a word. Shutting the door, drops of her own tears started running their way down her cheeks. Just before opening the door to her room, Hermione heard a knock and opened the door.

"Hermione? Who did this to you?" It was Ron. His hands placed themselves onto her tear-soaked cheeks and circled his thumbs in comfort. Hermione choked on her words, not allowing her say anything. She grabbed one of Ron's hands and kissed him longingly, passionately.

Ron's hands were no longer on Hermione's face, they were lowering down to her thighs. With little effort, he carried her and brought her body closer to his. Hermione leant backwards and Ron followed, their lips still battling against each other. They found their way to Hermione's room and closed the door behind them.

'Was that a knock I heard?' Harry thought. He did not bother to check if it was real or just a sound in his head. Afterward, a click echoed it's way into Harry's room. It must've been Hermione returning to her room. Again and again and again, as it did before, his head was swimming in thoughts that is Hermione. Why? Why do you keep thinking of her? Was it because he felt guilty of hurting her? No, it can't be. It must be something more. Figuring out what his emotions were telling him wasn't an easy job. And like a lightning strike, Harry drifted away to sleep. Again with the thoughts of her.
