"Happy Halloween!" I said to the children who came up our front steps. I was sitting outside with Emma handing out candy, while Nick and Melody were inside face-timing their parents.
I fell asleep with Corpse on the phone last night, but when I woke up he hung up and texted me saying he was going through something and had to. I texted him back asking him if he was okay but yet to had a response. I wasn't going to be worried because we kinda resolved all of our jealousy issues, and I realized I didn't have a reason to be jealous and he had no reason as well.
I just hope he can realize how much he means to me without having to say it. Whether he feels the same or not, he already has affected me in such a positive way that completely helped me with my past. I'm not a hundred percent okay, nor will I ever be, but he made me feel better about everything and he doesn't even know it.
"So, how're things going with Nick?" I spoke as our block was finally empty, asking Emma who was eating starburst.
"It's going. I mean we act like a couple and practically are, but he never officially asked me to be his girlfriend," Emma responded, staring down into the bowl of candy on her lap.
I gave her a look to keep talking because I knew she was trying to suppress what she was really feeling.
"Is it wrong I still want him to ask me to make things official? I mean we are practically adults, but I don't know, I just always wanted to be asked properly."
"There's nothing wrong with that Em. Nick is just dumb and probably just assumes you two are," I told her, wrapping my arm around her.
"Yeah, but I don't know. I didn't even expect myself to actually like him."
"Honestly, you two would always play fight and act like an old married couple, so I guess I'm not as shocked. You two work well together and are practically made for each other. It was only a matter of time before you two realized it. Love is just unexpected so don't doubt it."
