Adapting

(Sonic's POV)

The next day, well for us it wasn't easy sleeping with our ears and tails that night but eventually we got a good night sleep despite the aches on our asses from the tails.

"Anyone slept okay?" I asked nervously with a nervous smile.

"Don't ask." Shadow stiffly groan.

"Well, it was a little comfy having my long hair like a blanket or something." Silver said.

"Not easy to adapt, guys?" Amy asked.

"Nah, I wonder if these ears and tail are that of cats or a dog...OW!" I felt something sharp in my hair.

"You okay?" Silver asked.

"My hair is sharp like hedgehog quills or something!" I complained.

"Really?" Amy gets up from her seat and checks my hair. "Well your hair is much spikier in close ups." She looked.

"Not how it looks, I meant how sharp they feel when touching it." I complained.

"Hmmm... OW! Like needles." Amy accidentally stung on one of her own hair strands.

"We should call ourselves Hedgemen." Silver joked.

"Uh, Silver? I'm a woman, not a man." Amy corrected him.

"So I guess these ears and tails are not cats, they are hedgehog's." Shadow said, touching his hedgehog ears.

"Okay, Well I wonder what's for today?" I wondered.

"Some more training on our powers." Shadow said.

"First we should brush our hairs so it doesn't get so sharp and pointy" I suggested.

We headed to the training center and we see students training their powers and learning to control them as always. Something that we should do too for our powers so we can adapt more but we aren't sure if our powers can evolve, the more we use them.

Amy did make the suits for us along with Knuckles' adjustments to the suits to blend in with our powers last night. Our suits are black along with a glitter fabric for the star on our chest area of the suit. Like my father's star badge.

"Um, how long did you finish making the suits, Amy? Black is fine but the color...." Silver didn't want to criticize.

"I just came up with it so you guys don't complain about it. And besides, you guys look like superheroes." Amy said.

"This suit fits like a glove, Amy." I said.

"Thanks." Amy said.

"What material is it? Some spandex or something?" I asked, looking like I've grown some muscles through this spandex type of suit.

"Super advanced adaptive material." Amy said.

"Along with my adjustments too." Knuckles said.

"Okay let's get on with the training." I said impatiently.

"Impatient, aren't you?" Knuckles teased me at how very impatient I am.

"I don't like slow, I like FAST!!" I sped around in circles to feel the wind rushing through my hair and ears on my head. It went so fast my blue trail sparked lightnings in the room. I saw a wall and I thought I was gonna get hit but something felt weird, I was running on the walls on the sides and upside down without falling.

"WOOOOOOOOHOOOOOO!!!!" I cried out in excitement.

Eventually I came to a stop so I don't get to carried away with having too much fun with speed. "How was that?" I asked.

"Incredible, you ran fast as a jet." Knuckles said.

"I hope I didn't short out the hall." I looked around but nothing was shorted out.

"Now's my turn." Shadow stepped out.

"And don't land on me or anyone's asses again." I warned him.

"Not to worry." Shadow climbs up a rope until he reached the ceiling, he looked down and took a deep breath before letting go and fell, but as he was gonna land he teleported away.

He suddenly appeared before us, "How was that? Too dramatic?"

"Terrifying when I thought you were gonna die." I said with a dark humor.

"Good, let's hope you get bad nightmares." Shadow smirked.

"Hmph, we'll see." I crossed my arms that he doesn't feel scared of dark humor.

"Now it's my turn I hope." Amy said, turning invisible with her suit.

"Where are you? It's like you're a ghost and I can't see you." I said, unable to see her anywhere when she's entirely invisible.

"Right behind you." I heard her giggle.

"AAAHHH!!!" I got startled by that. "Jeez, at least don't sneak."

"Whoops sorry. Now for this." Amy became visible and a pink force field appeared on her.

"Try to hit it." Amy said.

"You sure?" Silver asked.

"Yes go ahead." Amy said.

Silver punched it but the force field made him bounce back. "OW!! It's like punching hard steel." Silver groaned.

"Awesome." Amy made it disappear.

"If we ever see those Deadly Six, they can't break through Amy's force fields." I laughed at the thought of it.

"But we don't know how powerful they are." Amy said.

Then it was Silver's turn; he was hesitating a little that he'll mess up again like last time but Knuckles instructed him to be calm and focus on using that power without overthinking it.

"Okay happy thoughts, Silver." He said to himself and focused on the basketballs on the floor.

He held his hand out and the circular ring marks on his hand glowed and he lifts the balls up. It was also making his hair move like the wind but obviously there's no wind anywhere. He then reaches out his other hand and threw the balls at the hoop.

"Steady, just stay calm." He said to himself while focusing.

"You're doing it Silver!" Amy cheered.

"Thanks." Silver looked back, the glow on his hand faded and the balls fell.

"How do you feel now?" Knuckles asked Silver since he can tell how exhausted he looked from all that power he used.

"Feels like I've been pushing weights." Silver panted.

"And let's not forget you developed abs for 2 days without even working out." Knuckles pointed at Silver's visible abs through his suit.

"Yes, considering I was worried getting chubby." Silver joked.

"Diet and exercise, Silver. That's what I do to stay in great shape." I said to him.

"Yeah, I know. I just get so anxious I eat too much." Silver said, sitting on the bench to take a break.

"I wonder if we're gonna run through more tests from Robotnik or Blaze." I wondered.

"Miles should run some test because he's a smart kid." Amy suggested.

"Okay. I wonder what he got up his sleeve this time." I said.
