*Taehyung POV*

I rushed back home from work, hardly paying attention to anything on the way. I had so much planning to do, so much work to finish, but for the first time, none of it was business-related. I still couldn't wrap my head around the fact that I was going back home.

I knew exactly how I was going to tell my friends, and how I was going to go about it. I would call y/n tonight and tell her, and then ask her to help me organise a group call tomorrow evening, when I would tell them all.

Then I'd spend the next week here, selling all my furniture and getting everything from work in order, as I prepared myself for a two or three month leave of absence. I couldn't remember the last time I had had this much time on my hands, but for the first time, I had absolute clarity of what I wanted to do.

One week here, one week moving and settling in there, and then I could do whatever I wanted. If I still felt uncomfortable staying at my childhood home, I could go apartment hunting.

I planned to set up a donation drive for a bunch of stuff that was left in the house, and y/n was talking about trying to get rid of some of her stuff too, so I thought I could help her out with that. So many things to do, so much time. I really felt hope.

*y/n POV*

I flopped down on my bed and chucked my phone aside, letting the music playing on it flow over me. I was alone at home for the next half hour- my brother had gone out to meet some of his friends from before, and although he had invited me, I just didn't really feel up to going.

I could feel myself relaxing as Joshua's soothing vocals washed over me, lulling me into an unavoidable nap.

"Y/n? You okay?" I opened my eyes to meet the concerned ones of my brother standing at the doorframe of my room. He walked over and placed his palm on my forehead. "Are you feeling sick?"

"I'm fine," I grumbled, still not fully awake. "Why?"

"Nothing. You were asleep with music on, so I was just wondering. You can't usually fall asleep with it, so I wondered if you were sick, like so tired that you could fall asleep anyways."

My heart softened a little bit. He really did care, didn't he? I didn't tell him that though.

"I'm fine, just sleepy."

"Okay. Do you want anything from outside for dinner, or do you want me to make food?"

"Please. Don't try to be nice now."

"Why?"

"Because later you'll be like oh I made food for you and now you owe me."

"Fine, suit yourself. I'm going for a shower. "

"Mmkay. Bye." I turned over and stuffed my face into the pillow.

"Get up, I'll only leave when you get up."

"Leave me alone" I whined

"No, if you sleep now than you won't sleep at night and then you'll talk to me, and then I can't sleep."

I groaned and got up, my hair a rat's nest. Taking it out of its tie and then retrying it in a knot at the top of my head, I walked out into the kitchen to make myself some dinner. I sat down at the kitchen counter with my laptop, trying to find a different recipe I could try.

My brother came out of the shower a few minutes later, and began helping me to make dinner. Halfway through, he got on call with one of his friends, leaving me to work by myself. To be fair, he had done most of the stuff I needed help with, so I didn't really mind. I was bored though, so I brought my phone over to continue playing some music.
