"Wha- Dude! I told you to stay up there! H-How much did you hear?!" He asked, speaking quicker than he already did. I gulped, padding down the stairs and stopping beside them both. Arthur said nothing, staring at me. It would normally make me uncomfortable, but there was something about it, he seemed starstruck or something. It was a complex feeling for sure.
"U-Um," I stuttered, trying to figure out what lie to tell. "Not much, what are you guys talking about?"
"Nothing!" Alfred yelled. Arthur kept staring at me. "Ah, um, dude, bro, this is Y/N." Arthur snapped out of it, and I swear he blushed a little.
"My name is Arthur, I'm Alfred's older, more mature brother," He introduced himself, bowing slightly. He took my hand and kissed it gently. "It is very nice to make your acquaintance, love." I felt my cheeks flush a bit. I don't know why, he was just such a gentleman, I couldn't help myself. He straightened himself back up and looked to Alfred. He looked angry? That wasn't like him.
"Well!" Alfred yelled, very loudly. "It's really late! I think Y/N is tired! We should all go to bed!"
"Yes, not a bad idea for once, Alfred. However, I must ask, where will Y/N sleep? The guest room hasn't finished being done over quite yet," Arthur inquired, taking his cloak off of his shoulders and draping it across his arm.
"She can sleep in my room! It's cooler than the guest room anyways! That room is boring, you had to make it look old or something, my room is awesome, 'cause it's my room, and I'm the hero!" Alfred yelled again. Arthur shook his head, sighing.
"No, no, she can sleep in my room. My room doesn't smell like stale hamburgers and I don't need a nightlight to sleep. I can sleep on the sofa for tonight," Arthur insisted. I looked between them, not wanting to upset either of them.
"Actually, I'd rather sleep on the couch, if that's okay with you two," I stated. Alfred looked a little sad.
"Are you sure, love? It might be a tad uncomfortable," Arthur asked, concerned. I nodded.
"Ah, I don't think I brought any pajamas, though, That's okay, though, I'll just sleep in my clothes," I replied, looking at the couch, then back at the brothers. Arthur perked up after a bit.
"Just a moment," He started, then ran upstairs. Alfred and I exchanged a few confused glances until he returned with a shirt and a pillow with the English flag on it. "'Ere ya go, love, you can wear my shirt, I'm sure it'll be more comfortable. Even though, a tad large for you, sorry about that." He laughed a bit. I wasn't paying attention, but I'm pretty sure Alfred was glaring at him
"Thank you, Arthur," I smiled, taking the shirt and the pillow.
"You're welcome, love. There is a quilt on the back of the sofa as well, if you happen to get cold," He smiled kindly. I wonder why he's being so nice to me, he just met me. He's also nowhere near this nice to his brother.
"Dammit, I wish I thought of that," Alfred mumbled, kicking the ground. I quickly looked up at him, confused, snapping out of it.
"What?" I asked. He turned redder than the stripes on the pillow.
"N-Nothing! Uh, damn, I'm tired, gotta go to bed now, bye!" He ran up the stairs. What was that all about? I need some sleep, I can't handle anymore tonight. Arthur shook his head in disapproval once again.
"There's a bathroom right down that hall to the left, love," He pointed behind me to the hallway. He motioned with his head behind him. "The kitchen behind me if you need something from there. I'm right upstairs a door down from Alfred if you happen to need me." He rubbed my shoulder gently, then disappeared up the stairs. I changed in the bathroom and walked over to the couch, setting up the pillow and blanket. Suddenly, something hit me. I steadied myself and looked up at where it came from. Alfred was standing behind the banister upstairs, laughing.
"G'Night, dude!" He yelled, running back to his room. I laughed, looking down to see what he threw at me. It was a pillow with an American flag on it. I set everything up, turned off the lights after looking for about a minute, and laid down on the couch. I laid there for a few minutes before I finally got bored and pulled out my phone. It was almost dead, but I texted Alfred.
"Why have you been acting so weird, Alf?"
I must've fallen asleep while waiting, because I woke up to a high pitched voice.
"Who are you?"
