PROLOGUE:
He woke up clutching his pounding head, feeling completely disoriented and hazy.
"Ranbir" a mellifluous voice called out in relief. A pair of soft hands helped him sit back, adjusting the pillow behind him.
He blinked his eyes to clear the haze away and it was after a few more minutes of efforts that he was successful. He looked up to meet a pair of chocolate brown eyes gleaming and hopeful and the moment froze for him. A peculiar feeling rose in his chest as he gazed into those eyes, those beautiful almond shaped eyes.
"Ranbir" the same voice called out again and it took him a while to snap out of the daze he dint even know he had fallen in!
There were sweat beads and specks of her hair plastered to her forehead. Her hair was tied up in an haphazard manner and she wasn't wearing any earrings either. Yet she looked alluring as she gazed at him with so much of concern. She moved towards him and the movement drew his attention to the string of black and gold beads around her neck. His eyes immediately looked up to see the pale speck of red on her forehead and then widened.
"Ranbir, are you alright? How are you feeling?" she asked, now sitting in front of him. She hadn't seen his reaction as she was moving the stool out of the way so she could sit in front of him.
"You...you're my wife?"
She sucked in a sharp breath at that.
"Yes I am"
He slumped back in complete shock and his reaction just confirmed her worst fears.
