A/N: Y/M is your mom. Y/D is your dad. Your uncle is Iruka and your last name is Umina. Try to keep in mind that you're like 14.

3rd POV

You and Naruto had been friends for as long as you could remember. I mean, how could you not be friends? You spent a lot of time at your uncle Iruka's house when Naruto was there. You didn't want to be a ninja, but he sure did. "Hey Naruto!" He never knew why you spent so much time at Iruka's, he just thought you were bored, or pitied him. "Hey Y/N!" Lately though, you've been spending a lot more time there, Iruka nor Naruto knew why until Naruto showed up to your house.

"Wanna hang out at Iruka's later?" He shook his head. "Nah I kinda made him mad earlier..." You didn't know what to do. It had gotten colder over the months, so you couldn't play outside. "Oh." Narcotic perked up with an idea. "Why don't we go to your house?" Your eyes widened in shock. "I don't think that's a good idea," you stammered out. Of course it was a bad idea. Your parents are home drunk and fighting. You don't want Naruto to know, or get hurt.

"I don't think that's a good idea..." You were trying to suggest doing something else, anything other than that. "Why not Y/N? Your parents can't be that scary." You shook your head. "We're not going to my house, so can we just drop it please?" You didn't want to cry in front of him. "Fine..." You were both silent for awhile, until you broke the silence. "It's getting dark, I should be getting home..." You said good-bye and walked home.

When you got home you saw liquor bottles littering the floor. You got inside as quietly as possible, as to not alert anyone that you're home. "Oh look who decided to show up..." You looked up to see who the voice came from. It was your father. Behind him your mother. "Sir... Ma'am..." You knew better than to call them 'Mom' or 'Dad'. "Where were you?!" You also knew better than to speak unless spoken too. "Out with Naruto Uzamaki, Sir." You hoped like hell they would let it go, but they didn't.

The next morning you went work. You didn't know how you were going to explain the black eye. "Hey- What the heck happened?!" It was Naruto.  "Oh, hey Naruto. I got into a fight on my way home last night..." He couldn't tell if you were lying or not, but he gave you a worried look. "I'm fine Naruto. I promise." You were silently pleading that he would believe you.

"Fine, but if they jump you again tell me, and I'll beat their asses." You giggled. "Of course, thank you Naruto." You hugged each other. "Oh no..." You let go of Naruto with a questioning look. "I forgot about my training with Iruka sensei." You facepalmed at his stupidity. "Oh my god, get going you moron!" You flicked his forehead and he ran off yelling his good-byes.

Naruto POV

Good thing they believed me. I ran all the way to Iruka's and knocked on the door. I hope they didn't follow me. "Iruka sensei! Open up, we need to talk!" I figured Iruka was still asleep so I let myself in. I walked through the front door and saw Iruka sensei at the table eating ramen. "Iruka," I whined dragging out the 'a' in his name.

"What now Naruto?" I looked at him with a very serious look. "It's about Y/N." That got his attention. "What about them?" He moved his bowl to the side and motioned for me to sit across for him. I sat down and started talking. "Last night they asked if I wanted to hang out here. I said that you were mad at me and they believed. So I suggested for us to go to their house, but that idea was immediately shut down by them."

I paused to take a breath but Iruka sensei quickly ushered me on. "I followed them home, I peaked inside the door when it opened. Inside I saw a lot of liquor bottles scattered. After the door shut I stuck around for awhile. What I heard though, was horrifying. Glass shattering, punches being thrown, and screaming. So much screaming." Iruka looked at me shocked. "Did you ask them about it this morning?" I nodded, "Of course I did."

I could tell he was speechless. "Go home Naruto." He was stern and serious. I forgot how scary Iruka is when he was mad. "Yes sir." I walked out the door, scared about what he was going to do and worried about Y/N.

Iruka POV

That bastard! I can't believe Y/D would do that to them! That damn brother of mine. I got dressed and walked out of my house, and to my brother's. I got there and started pounding on the door. I heard steps coming down the stairs to the 2 story house. "Can I- Uncle Iruka!" Y/N answered the door then slammed it in my face. They had a black eye, and from what I could tell they had bruises  and cuts up and down their arm. I heard footsteps on the stairs again then silence.

I stood there for a few more minutes before I knocked again. I heard more footsteps then the door opened again. "What's going on Y/N?" They moved out of the way, with a long sleeve shirt on, to let me in. "N-nothing." Now Y/N never stutters, never. "Where's Y/M andY/D?" They shrugged her shoulders. Their parents don't have a job so they must be here. "Y/N. Where are they?" I repeated my question, but in a more stern voice. I could tell they were nervous so I reached out to assure them, but Y/N flinched.

3rd POV

You put your hands up to defend yourself, but a hit never came. You must have forgotten who was in front of you. "U-upstairs," you stuttered. Iruka ran up the stairs, but you ran out of the house. You ran all the way to the statues. At first you didn't realize it, but when you looked around you saw Naruto. He must've seen you were crying because ran over to you. You had dropped to your knees when he got to you. He enveloped you in a hug and started sobbing into his shoulder.

"What happened Y/N?" You knew you shouldn't answer, but you wanted to. "I-Iruka sh-showed up a-t home..." Naruto looked grabbed your hand and pulled up your sleeve. "Oh, Y/N... I'm so sorry, I should've busted down the door last night." You looked up at him with tear stained cheeks and red eyes. "Y-you were there?" He nodded. "I shouldn't have spied, and for that I'm sorry, but I'm not sorry for telling Iruka sensei. What they were doing was not ok."

You knew Naruto was right but you didn't want to believe him. Those people who raised you weren't always like that. "It's not their fault..." You were muttering things when Naruto tapped your shoulder. You looked up and saw Iruka standing a few feet away from you. "Hey Y/N..." You saw that his cheek was quickly bruising, with that you made the assumption that he fought your parents. You ran to him and hugged him, breaking down in the process. You two had slumped to the ground.

You must've cried yourself to sleep because the next thing you knew what was that you were in the spared bedroom at Iruka's. You walked out the room and saw Iruka with a few other shinobi's."W-what's going on?" You knew you couldn't live at your home anymore, and Iruka had no idea how to raise children. "We need to find somewhere for you to stay. Your parents have been taken to a prison out of here." You thought for a minute, then remembered that Naruto lived alone.

"What about Naruto? He lives alone and between the two of us we can pay his rent, buy groceries, and other needed things." The others thought for a moment and Iruka sighed. "That's what Naruto said... I guess it's settled then." A few minute go by until Naruto shows up at Iruka's place.

"You know how you said Y/N could live with you? Is that still on the table?" Naruto nodded eagerly. "Go help them gather their stuff then help them move in with you." Iruka leaned in to whisper in Naruto's ear. "Hurt them and you will never be heard from again," Iruka pulled back, "Understood?" Naruto nodded his head now frightened by the threat.

You run down the stairs of you used to be home and to Naruto who was standing on the porch. "Got everything?" You nodded and the two of you left to his apartment.

"Thank you again Naruto. I owe you my life."
