Evangeline Gilbert~ The Vampire Diaries- season one

Isobel

^Evangeline's Outfit^

Today we are preparing for founders day. Caroline got a whole crew to help her create the Miss Mystic Falls float. I was in the school with Alaric, Damon, Elena and Stefan. Alaric called us because Isobel is in town. She said that she wanted to meet Elena. "Are you sure you want to meet her?" Stefan asked.

"I'm sure. She is my birth mother. If I don't met her, I'll regret it. You can stay in the Grill just in case something goes wrong," she told Stefan. He nodded and they headed out of Alaric's classroom. I see Bonnie and Caroline go down the hall. Bonnie. I haven't talked to her in like forever.

"Bonnie wait up!" she acts as if she doesn't hear me. "Please!" She turns around to face me. She walks up.

"Did you want to tell me something?" she asks after a break of silence. Honestly, I didn't have to say anything. I just wanted to see her face.

"Uh... Isobel is in town. Elena is meeting her..." she just looks at me in shock. "I just wanted you to know." I attempt to walk away but she grabs my arm.

"I want to show you something."

"I've been looking in Emily's spell book and look," she flips a page. "This is the Gilbert compass. She put magic in it so it works. Johnathon Gilbert never invented anything. Since Emily stuck with Katherine, I guess this was her way to make sure she wouldn't hurt anyone." she flips another page. "This is the device Isobel and John want. Damon only has one piece. But the odd thing is that it hurts vampires. Why would Isobel want it?"

"I... don't know," is the only words that fell out of my mouth including, "I have no idea."

--Damon POV--

"Do you honestly thing I want that device? No, Katherine does. I'm working for her," Isobel tells me.

"So your her messager. Did she also tell you to threaten to kill everyone in this town? Elena told me that is what you said to her," Isobel races over to me as almost a threat. I take her and push her to the ground.

"Don't kill the messager," she says with a smirk.

"Don't kill anyone one in this town because if you lay a finger on Elena or... Evangeline I will kill you. I do believe in killing the messenger. You know why? Because it sends a message," I get off of Isobel and leave.

"Isobel took Jeremy," Elena whispered to me as I helped Matt sit up. Some part of the float fell on him and he is seriously injured. Caroline was freaking out.

"What!?" I whispered screamed.

"She'll give him back to us if we give her the Gilbert device. The issue is that there is no way that Damon would give in to giving it to her."

"What if we got a witch to remove the magic?"

Everyone gathered around Bonnie who was by the Salvatore fireplace. "I just have to reverse the spell Emily put on it," she told everyone.

"There is no way I can trust you. I tried to kill you. I'm not going to give it to Isobel," Damon told her.

"You can trust me and I trust Bonnie," I tell Damon.

He glares at me for a second. "You're a massive liar. I can't even tell by your heartbeat!" he yells.

"Do you actually thing that I want you... and Stefan dead? Really? Fine, if you don't trust me, you can trust Elena." I turn to her. "Do you believe Bonnie?" I ask.

"I honestly don't know. She has been distant," Elena tells me.

I roll my eyes and tell her "You're not helping." I turn back to Damon. "Just go with the flow for once."

"Fine." Bonnie began the spell. The room shakes and the lights flickered like a horror movie. She raised her hands and the device floated with it. The flames in the fire grew larger. All of the sudden, the shaking stopped. The lights stayed normal, the device dropped and the flames in the fire went back to normal size.

"It's done," she says, not looking at anyone.

"She says she wants to meet us at the town's square," Elena says to me.

"Why with me?" I ask.

"Because... I don't know! Just come."

We head to the town's square with Damon and Stefan as 'protection'. Isobel is standing with two people by the side. "Neither of those are Jeremy, where is he?" I ask.

"Call home," she says. Elena and I looked at he confused. "Did you not hear me?" Elena dials our home phone and nods to Jeremy's words.

"You were never going to hurt him," I tell her.

"No, I was going to kill him. There is no light in me, Evangeline," Isobel says.

"How did you even know Damon would give us the device?" I ask.

"This one has a lot of questions. I knew he would give it to you because he is in love with you," Isobel informs me. My eyes widened.

There was a awkward amount of silence before I said "Bullshit. Elena, give her the device and let's go." Elena handed her it and walked away with Stefan at her side. I walked a little faster because I didn't want Damon at my side. Why? Because he spent all this time in love with my sister to turn to me. I'm a freaking last resort. I don't want to be treated like that. He should honestly be embarrassed of himself!

--Third Person--

"I just delivered the device to you," Isobel said over the phone to John. "Katherine only wanted the tomb vampires gone but I want to add 2 more to that list."

"Damon and Stefan Salvatore," John put together.

"Elena is our daughter. I don't want this life for her."

Meanwhile at the grill Caroline asks Bonnie, "So your just not going to tell me whats wrong?" Bonnie looked away. "C'mon!"

"I did something bad Caroline and I lied about it," Bonnie told her.

"To who?" Caroline asked.

"To Evangeline and Elena. I pretended to do something I didn't really do."

"Wait, what are you talking about?"

"I couldn't do what they wanted me to do. It wasn't right. Grams would of never done it so I couldn't either." Caroline looked at Bonnie, confused. "But when they find out... they will never forgive me."
