The U.S Marine Corps Depot in Parris Island is such a beautiful location, top that with handsome soldiers all topless with khaki pants involved in rigorous morning training. Kamal El'thuraaj is one of the hot soldiers doing rounds today, he stood tall among his fellow mates, with a body to die for. Heck, he knows a lotta his mates wonder how he keeps fit, why? Well, let's just say he's a certified foodie. He could eat anything and still maintain his body. To be honest, if it wasn't for a routine he follows religiously he would have a potbelly and probably man boobs.

"El'thuraaj..To the Major's Office now!!" Captain Dave shouted.

"Sir!" Kamal replied and made his way to the inner administrative block. He somewhat has an idea as to why the Major asked to see him. It's about the mission he was called back from home for.

Speaking about home, deep down he misses the Palace and as always he's denying the fact that it wasn't because of a certain beautiful damsel. How was she even coping? Every day feels like a struggle to wake up on his side. Thank God they've been exchanging letters, I know! Letters so old school but the lady insisted and the way he's starting to feel about her recently he feels there's nothing he couldn't do for her. The lady wants what the lady wants.

He stepped into the office and saluted the Major standing at attention waiting for further orders. It took about 5 minutes before the Major stood up from his seat to the large windows in the office.

"At ease Soldier, you can relax now El'thuraaj, I have got some bad news, unfortunately. The Yaks have decided to attack, so operation middle belt is fully on ground. You and your team are leaving tomorrow night" The Major said.

"Sir, Yes Sir! My duty is to my uniform, my team, and I will proceed with the mission Sir" Kamal replied.

The Major nodded and said, "Further details tomorrow at dawn!"
Kamal Saluted and turned to leave the room when the Major's voice stopped him
"by the way Lieutenant there's a letter for you at the army post office, do make sure you get it now before you proceed to the living quarters," he said with a hint of playfulness.

"Sir!" Kamal said without turning to face the Major, albeit embarrassed. He couldn't shake off the Major's laughter as he walked out of the office.

In the night when Kamal was alone in the living quarters, he took out the letter from someone he has so gotten used to. It wasn't in his plan to fall in love easily and soon at that matter but it was in their destiny. The envelope was pink and smelled of roses, so feminine and so graceful. His princess.

"Hello,
It's me, your hot mess of a fiancée. I'll try to make this short and to the point because lets are honest, I'll burst out in tears if I don't, I'm way too sensitive for my own good. We don't have the privilege of being with each other every day, and we don't have the privilege to talk every day, and as I write this letter to you, we are thousands and thousands of miles away from each other, you're on a different continent and, for now, I have to be OK with it. But there are some things I need you to know before we begin yet another long time away from each other.
Thank you for letting me in. You have been trained to be a strong, independent, tough man who shows little to no emotion, but you still manage to show me your vulnerability. Thank you for giving more long-distance love than some couples have that get to see each other every day. Thank you for making me a priority in between your busy days, and when you are in the field. Thank you for letting me be the only thing besides your family you show your emotions for. It never goes unnoticed the way you take care of me while you are away.
Some people only experience superheroes in books, and how lucky am I to get to call the love of my life and husband to be.. I can't wait to share forever with you.

Yours,
Sainey."

Kamal was lost at words, she understands him more than anyone in the world. He stood up to his reading table and thought about what to write to her, he knew he couldn't share with her the details of his mission but at least he could let her know it might be a while before he sent her a letter. He also couldn't share his new location with her.

A letter was written from the heart, he has never openly confessed to loving her, it was only in his actions she assumed, knowing fully well he neither confirmed nor denied his feelings for her. This letter though, there was a lot of confirmation and words of affirmation that accompanied it. Words that soothes the heart and words that broke it, he spelled out the danger of the mission like it was. Raw; No sugar coating and for the very first time since joining the Army, Kamal was scared.

Fàànilè Kingdom 5:34 pm

Yaccine POV

For the past few weeks since Kamal left, Maiduguri has been on my mind, I mean thinking about Kamal is a constant thing now, he occupies my thoughts and tortures me with missing him. It might be surprising to people how I got so close to him, especially seeing how we weren't that close when he was around. Over the few weeks, we've connected through our letters more than we did when he was here.

Now I'm always worried sick about him, I sent my last letter almost two weeks ago, a reply should've been here by now. I am so eager to see what he's written this time, I put down a lot of feelings in my letter, my emotions got the best of me, but it's true, isn't it? I am in love with the crown prince of Fàànilè Kingdom. I giggled. Definitely drunk in love but he doesn't have to know that... yet.

"Salam Ranki dade, jakadiyya has sent this envelope for you, she said to inform you that it's from America and it came in just now from the airport" Shamsiyya my hand-maiden reported.

"Thank you, kice an gaishe da Jakadiyya; I'll send for her later" I replied.

As soon as she stepped out I tore open the envelope and sniffed the paper, I was giddy with excitement. I mentioned in of the letters I had sent him a month back that his perfume did things to me, I love his scent, and ever since he has always made sure to spray a dash of his signature Sean John Unforgivable perfume on the paper. I sat down by the window and began to read

" Sainey the Wifey"
I laughed at the address, oh my forever cheeky prince, and continued reading the letter. My heart was beating fast and I didn't know what to expect

"Princess you have put me to shame with your last letter, it came when I needed the most comforting in my life. You have given me a new purpose and even made me braver in expressing my feelings. Yacine, my letter will come to you as a remedy of a broken heart but only for me to go break it again. I, the Crown Prince of Fàànilè is confessing to my feelings, raw and unadulterated, you have become a part of me that I never want to be apart from, I wish I could give you all the happiness that's meant for me in this Dunya and take away all the pain that's meant for you in this Dunya. If there's anything better than happiness I'd find it and give it to you. My life's top priority is staying alive for you, fighting battles bravely thinking soon I'd be with you and my family. If there's anything greater than you becoming my wife? then it's you becoming the mother of my children. Unfortunately, I've been sent on a mission, I can't share with you what, where, and how but always know that I'm with you, I'm within you and I'll always be with you. Pray for me always Querida...

Yours always,
K.E

Ps. Yaccine?! I love you."
