Ahmed's Rules of Battle
10. Cause: Never enter a battle for a pointless reason. Have both a goal and a purpose for that goal, otherwise the battle will in itself become meaningless. And a meaningless battle, whether won or lost, can never bring gain.
9. Loyalty: If you go down, you go down alone. Never give the names of anyone you are working with. There are none that deserve your loyalty more than those who fight alongside you. Loyalty can be dangerous though, so fighting alone is often the best course of action.
8. Planning: Never enter a battle without an attack plan and contingencies. Have a fall-back plan should your initial attack fail, or should an unexpected situation arise you must always have an escape route.
7. Patience: Do not allow impatience or boredom to drive you to making rash or sudden decisions. Patience can mean the difference between winning or losing a battle, and the difference between life and death. While anger can be useful, impatience never.
6. Speed, strength and agility: Do not give your opponent any physical advantages. Preparation for a battle is almost as important as the battle itself, so train both your body and your mind to best your opponent.
5. Silence: Be silent, be unheard and be undiscovered. Stealth can be as effective a weapon as a sword or a shield, and use the element of surprise to your advantage as much as possible. It is much easier to sneak in a back entrance than to storm a front gate.
4. Attention: Always be on your guard, never be careless, and never turn your back on an opponent. Being careless could not only cost you your own life, but the lives of others. Letting your guard down opens you up to surprise attacks. Watch your back.
3. Knowledge: Observe and learn as much as you can about your enemy and your surroundings. It is pointless to go into a battle without first knowing your opponent. Without knowing their strengths and weaknesses, you will lose.
2. Perception: Never take things at face value. If something seems to good to be true, it most likely is, and if a battle seems too easily won then it is not over yet. Do not underestimate your opponent, no matter who they may be. Nothing is ever as it seems.
1. Hope: All is never lost
