song for the chapter:  nothings going to hurt you baby by cigarettes after sex

Theia felt her breath catch in her throat as her gaze lifted to meet Selene's. Her friend had a confused look on her face, her hands clasped in front of her as she watched Theia's movements.

She really didn't know where to start her explanation to Selene as the current letter in her hands was much of a surprise to Theia as it was to Selene. She hadn't spoken to Cassius since she had left Hogwarts a month ago.

Leaving Hogwarts was always challenging for most, as the school was more of a home than where she actually resided. And that was the same for many of the students. But during the last few months of classes, something had begun to shift between Cassius and herself.

The boy who normally ignored her save for when he needed her had begun to smile at her each time they passed, offering the occasional soft "hello" as he went by.

But soon the end of term had came and with that Cassius's graduation.

And when the end of term came and students flocked to the Hogwarts express to return home, he had sat with her large group of friends that were squished into the same train car. Ron's look of surprise when Selene and Cassius had joined them was something she couldn't forget.

But the arrival at King's Cross Station always was met with sadness as Theia parted with her friends. But Cassius, he was different this time. The way he hugged her goodbye, the lingering touch of his hands as he pulled away from her.

"I'll speak with you soon." Was all he had said before taking Selene by the elbow and leading them towards a sleek, black car.

"Theia?" Selene's voice snapped her out of her thoughts, the woman waiting for some sort of response to the letter.

"I...Where do I begin?" Theia gave a small laugh that was free of humour, lifting a hand to push her dark hair out of her face before continuing, "Remember 2 years ago? The Yule Ball?"

"Yeah, Cassius took you after a certain somebody decided to take her." Selene gave a small nod of her head at the memory, a small smile touching her lips.

"Well...uh...I...kindofsleptwithyourbrotherthatnight." The words came out rushed, Theia closing her eyes as she awaited Selene's reaction.

"Oh I knew that, he told me the next morning." Theia felt a gentle touch on her arm, opening her eyes to see Selene's face void of anger.

"Yeah it didn't stop there."

"Oh?"

"Remember when I visited you that following summer?" Theia's gaze fell to her feet as she continued to tell the truth to Selene about her relationship with her brother.

"Yes."

"Well it stretched into that summer and then it was an on and off fling for the next two school years."
