The doorbell rings and I casually walk up and open it to be jumped by a squealing bubble of joy that towered over me."Lily! Oh my gosh, girl! I haven't seen you since graduation!"
I couldn't help but laugh as I hug the tall red head and smile. "I know! I'm so glad you were able to come over this week! I've missed you so much!"
"Me too! After you left, it was so dull! Nothing but work, bills, and wine to drown my single sorrows. Now, we can go get some margaritas and watch hot men on the beach!" She exclaims as she struts in pulling he suitcase behind her as I close the door.
" Yes, but after I'm finished with my interview. I have a video conference with CNN tonight. So you rest up and tomorrow we'll have some fun." I smiled and Penny turns around with a grin.
"Oh how can I forget? Miss Best-Time-author five times in a row!" She says as she begins to fan herself dramatically. "Oh I do declare! Josh brings a passion that burns brighter than a thousand suns!"
I laugh as I walk into the kitchen and pour us some iced tea.
"That's a sun I wouldn't mind being under." She purrs and and we both burst into laughter.
" You have such a lovely way with words Penny, I should hire you to do the summery of my next book. My editors been telling me I need to go for something more steamy."
"I agree with them. All those years I spent corrupting your innocent mind, just for this moment, and you have yet to unleash your full potential." She sighs and I give her a knowing smirk.
"What can I say? With knowledge comes responsibility, and I want to keep things pure in my books. I feel like sometimes things are to focused on sex rather then an emotional connection." I shrug and I hand her a glass.
"True... But still you're twenty-seven Lil. Don't you think it's time to be a bit more... 'adventurous?'"
"'Adventurous?'" I echo and chuckle. "I think I'll wait till the right time. Until then, I'm going to enjoy some different kind of excursions."
"Like...?" She sings and I grin.
" Well, usually I'd say go travel somewhere. But for tonight... there is this club I haven't gone too yet that's been pretty popular lately. Maybe do a girls night out to celebrate our mini vacation?"
"Yes! And we are gonna get numbers, tonight! Especially, you!" She gasps.
"Yeah sure, if that happens." I say knowing that even if I did, there was no way I'd call back some random stranger and expect something good out of it.
"Come on! You might meet your future husband! And then y'all can set me up." She says with Chester smile and I smile softly.
"Penny, you know how I feel about relationships. Let's just focus on having fun tonight! Now, while you get settled I'm going to head up and get ready for my interview."
"Quick question: do they have karaoke?"
I smile and give her a knowing glance. " What do you think?"
" YES!!! We're gonna turn up tonight!" Echoes throughout the house and I laugh, shaking my head as I head up the stairs to my study.
Opening the white trimmed double doors I step inside and take a breath. I'm supposed to long on in ten minutes and my heart was racing. I expected my books to do well but I never thought they would get this much publicity! This was my first time revealing myself to the public and my fingers played with my grandmother's ring on my right hand. Quickly making sure everything is neat and put together, I slowly approach my desk as I stared at my laptop. Feeling the adrenaline rush from anxiety mixed with excitement, I sit down and log in. I await patiently for CNN's FaceTime call to pop up on my screen. Minutes feel as if it dragged into hours when finally I my laptop receives the call. Taking as slow breath, I'm sure to edit the camera to blur my face in the video. My hand hovers over the mouse before accepting.
"Hello everyone, I'm Katelyn with CNN to give you personal insight to the mysterious rising novelist, L. M. Rosemary! Already receiving the awards of New York Times - Bestseller for several of her books, she has become known as the romantic of the new era. Welcome!"
"Hello, it's a pleasure to speak with you all today and thank you, Kate for the kind words!" I smile and her glossed lips smile wide as she begins.
"Now, Rosemary, you are widely known for publishing romance novels that captures the hearts of any reader - however you unlike most writers, you never stay consistent with your characters having a happy ending? Why is that?"
I didn't really have to think, but I gave a small pause before I calmly rest my hands together on the desk and shrugged.
"Well, everyone loves the idea of a happily ever after. We see it growing up with our favorite kids shows and movies, in books, and even as adults we see it as an inevitable goal in life. However, like the world we live in, people are not perfect. In everything- love or something else, we as people should strive for the betterment of our lives. However, we will never reach perfection. So learn to be content with the things you do achieve." I smile and Katelyn's eyes widen.
"Do you're saying that even though it's not ideal, your characters still are better in the end?"
"Yes, because they learn something different in the end. That's life. The only way you will live and be successful is by learning from everything you come across."
"An incredible insight to have and share throughout your novels with your audience, Miss Rosemary! But why romance? Is it an influence to your own personal love life, or is there something more to just that."
I couldn't help but chuckle at the question and shake my head. "Uh no, no... I just always enjoy romance. None of my novels really pertain to my personal life in terms of romance."
"So you have yet to find your own 'Prince Charming?'"
"Yes, however
