"So good to see you again, Albus."
The large blade clashes with the cloaked angel's own, sparks from the various magical energies that coat both blades. Albus yelps as Boris' corrupting influence snakes its way down his arms. His teeth grit as his silver hair billows in the breeze caused by the clash of blades. He shouts above the din of the combat, "I'm here to stop you, Boris! I won't let you get your hands on that arrow!"
The Overlord chuckles as he forces Greyblossom back with the slightest of pressure on his blade, "Of course you won't. Because you're going to help me. Just like you did last time." He smiles as he sees the angel's eyes snap to him in shock, "You didn't think I would forget, did you? It's thanks you I was able to get your fellow 'guardians' out of my way."
"You lied to me!" Albus tries to force the Overlord back, but the larger, armored man doesn't budge, "You told me you just wanted to talk to them!"
"But who was the one who believed the lie?" Boris points a finger at his old acquaintance, before moving it to the arrow floating above the pool of lava behind him, "And who will believe it again if I told them I just wanted to take the arrow and study it, hmm?"
Albus snaps as the Overlord laughs in his face, screaming as he lifts his sword up to strike...leaving his body wide open.
Boris punches him twice in the chest, sending the angel flying backward into a stone pillar. The breath leaves him as he falls to the ground, staggering to his feet while Boris slowly approaches him. The Overlord's massive blade dragged along the floor behind him, his pitch black armor sucking in all the light around him as he approached.
Albus coughed in pain while holding his blade up to guard against the Overlord's onslaught. Boris chuckled again as he raised his blade high above his head, ready to end the angel's life with one more strike.
"I got it!" a small, excited voice shouted out from far behind the Overlord. Boris and Albus paused in their confrontation, slowly moving their heads in the direction of the shout. What they saw made the Overlord's eyes bulge out inside his helmet, while Albus smiled in triumph.
Standing on the shoulders of Tanis as she gracefully walked along the obsidian rocks floating on the surface of the lava, Arthur held the blazing red arrow in a gloved hand. They shouted in with glee, but the movement made them lose their balance on Tanis' shoulders. Arthur yelped as they fell into the waiting arms of Princess Arwen, her two leather jerkin and pants slightly charred from the heat of the lava. She set Arthur on their feet just as the Overlord let out an angry cry that shook the foundations of the old temple.
"Wretched meddlers!" Boris shouted as he ran towards the three heroes, "The Blazing Arrow shall be mine!"
As the armored giant closed in, Arwen jumped into action. The hiss of steel leaving leather was replaced with a ringing clash as her royal sword stopped the Overlord's swing. With a strained voice she shouted, "Arthur! Lady Tanis! Get Albus and run!"
"Not without you, Arwen! The elves do not leave their friends behind!" Tanis draws her blade and leaps at the towering foe, only for the Overlord to catch her blade in his off hand. However, he this is enough to keep him busy for Arthur to scurry over to the wounded angel.
"No!" Boris easily overpowers the human and elf, sending them flying in different directions. Arwen doesn't fall, but feels her arms go numb from holding back the Overlord's massive blade. Meanwhile, Tanis cries out as her arm breaks when she slams against what remains of a long shattered column. Boris turns and slowly advances on the squire as they try to lift up the wounded angel.
Arthur's eyes widen at the approaching Overlord, but they doesn't falter. With a tiny shout they pulled Albus onto their shoulder and started to drag him away from the foe, "Tanis! Arwen! I've got Albus! We need to go!"
