Chapter 10

The day of Alivia's Birthday

 Alivia POV :)

I was awakened by a bright light on my face, as I look to see one of my maid's hands leave the opened currents. I get up off my bed and then my maid begins to speak "Good morning and happy birthday Mrs. Evergreen I and a couple of other maids will get you ready." as soon as she finished her sentence I felt extremely sad, but I masked my expression with a smile. I then said, "Good morning to you as well." And that was the end of the conversion she gestured for me to sit down on the chair and began to prepare me for my birthday party.

This would be my first birthday party and social gathering because in this society going out in public before you debuted was seen as "wrong." However, it seemed father did not care too much about what others thought since he would let me go out if I wanted. As I feel someone call my name I stop zooming out and I said "yes" my head maid then said, " We have finished please look in the mirror, is it to your liking." I then look up to the mirror to see myself looking very lovely.

I walked out of the door, to my father who was talking to this middle-aged man who was wearing a tuxedo. I called out for my father and he turned to see his eye sparking to see how beautiful his daughter was. Then, he said, "Alivia, you look beautiful just as your mother was." I was shocked at what my father what just said, my Father never mentions my mother very often. I responded "Thank you very much, Father, you don't look too bad yourself. Then, an awkward silence happened, then father and I burst out laughing. Father then said, "Happy Birthday my beautiful Alivia I will throw you a grand party with music and dancing, with your friends to come too." I was very delighted that my father cared enough about me to throw a party but a little hesitant because in my past life my father announced that he was getting married on my birthday. But, I tried to look past all my worries to try to enjoy my time at the party.

At the party~

Alivia's POV T^T

I walked down the staircase and saw the party my father had planned, it was luxurious with high-ranking people everywhere I recognized some as A and S ranked even SS ranked status. Everything in my sight was lovely decorated and very well-dressed people. My father came up to me with the sweetest smile and said: "Happy Birthday my darling you deserve the best, I even got the King's sons to come." I responded, "Thank you so much, Father." I could feel that my facial expression was something that resembled disgust.  So I quickly masked it with a smile.

I turn turds the older looking gentlemen and I start to say. " Hello, It's a pleasure to meet you  my name is Alivia Evergreen."  I then bowed and saw to boys around my age that unmistakenly resembled the princes from my past life. I quickly moved my eyes from them when I heard the older man who I think is the king say. " Alivia, the pleasure is all mine, I have heard amazing things about you, how you exceed in both academics and magic." "I'm quite excited to see your ranking." 

It had completely slipped my mind that my ranking would be announced today. The king then says " I would like you to think about becoming my son's fiancee." I then say bluntly " I have to deny your offer." The king laughs it off as If I were joking. I then say "We both know that I can actually deny your offer." So then the king says "Then what about a proposal. If you can complete the proposal then you would not have to marry my son."
