Chapter 4 - Better Off With Joey

Seeing Amanda upset breaks my heart. Last night I woke up to hear her crying next to me.

"Are you okay?" I asked, rubbing my eyes "y-yeah, think I've just got a cold" She mumbled, obviously lying. I didn't want to bother her so I just scooted over to her and slowly brought her into my arms, where it was pitch black we couldn't see each other's faces but I knew there were tears rolling down her face. Soon enough she fell asleep and I had a long think about what to do.

"There's no food" Caspar says, storming into the living room where me and Amanda are having laptop time "seriously?" I ask "literally no food! What am I going to eat?!" He says dramatically "takeaway" I suggest "we can't live on takeaway Joe" Amanda laughs, closing her laptop "well what then!" Caspar cries dramatically "well Caspar, there's a thing called shopping" Amanda says patronizingly. Putting away her laptop and grabbing her shoes and coat "what are you doing?" I ask "going shopping" she replies "we need food so I'll get it... As usual" she says the last part quietly and before I know it she's out of the house, no trace she was even here "well, that was easy" Caspar shrugs, sitting where she was "you're such an idiot" I laugh, punching him playfully in the arm "I know" he chuckles and pulls out a bar of chocolate from his pocket "I thought there was no food!" I say in disbelief "um" he mutters, taking a bite out of it. I roll my eyes.

There's a silence and an idea comes to my mind "Caspar, can I use your laptop to skype someone?" I ask "can't you use your own?" He asks. Shit! Quick excuses "um it's broken... Yeah it's broken! I need to get it fixed" I lie, patting my completely fine laptop "hmm okay. Who though?" He asks, holding his laptop defensively "Tyler, just a little chat about Amanda and our baby" I say, forcing a smile "alright then" he says, his face softening at the mention of the baby.

My laptop is definitely not broken and I'm definitely not having a 'little chat' with Tyler. I want to call him on Caspar's skype because he won't answer mine, also him and Caspar are friends.

I take the laptop to my room and call Tyler, he answers immediately "Casp- Joe?!" He says, confused "yeah Tyler, it's me. We need to talk" I say sternly, he raises an eyebrow "fine" he mutters "were you being serious about what you said yesterday?" I ask. There's a pause and he nods "do you understand that I heard Amanda crying her eyes out last night?" I ask camly, trying to keep my anger in. He looks slightly guilty as soon as I say it "why?" He asks "what do you mean 'why'? She was crying because of the hurtful things her own brother said" I say angrily, he bites his lip and there's a silence "it's your fau-" he starts "no it's not our fault! It's no ones fault, it's a good thing Tyler! I don't know what Amanda will say to this but if you're gonna act like how you are I don't want you to be an uncle to my son or daughter, even if you are by blood" I growl "what if I want to be?" He asks, raising an eyebrow "then you wouldn't have acted how you did" I reply, fake smiling. There's an awkward silence so I decide to end the conversation "anyway Tyler, if you end up changing your mind and realizing how out of order you were, you can speak to Amanda and apologize. I don't want to talk to you until you do that" I say calmly, he looks at me and takes a deep breath "I've always liked Amanda with Joey better than you" he says quietly before pressing hang up.

I look at the blank screen in shock. What? Why Joey? Something has clearly changed about Tyler and I want to know why. I never ever expected him to treat his sister and brother-in-law like that.

"Laptop back now" Caspar says, walking over and picking up his laptop "Caspar... Do you think me and Amanda are having a baby too soon?" I ask, he waits a minute before replying "no, if you're happy then it's fine. It's not going to ruin your career I mean look at Louise! She has Darcy and she's still so successful. Honestly you're fine Joe" Caspar smiles, leaving the room with his laptop in hand. I now feel comforted by Caspar but still slightly worried about what Tyler has said.
"I'm home with food and presents!" I hear Amanda shout as the door opens. There's mumbled talking between her and Caspar and then I hear Caspar shout in joy "THANK YOU AMANDA!" He chimes and then it's quiet again until the door to my room opens and in walks Amanda. She smiles as she walks over to my side of the bed where I'm laying and slowly climbs over me so she's straddling me. She kisses me softly and then pulls away "I have some presents for you being an amazing husband" she smiles, handing me a little goody bag "oh you" I chuckle, smiling. I open the bag and see two ticket type things "romantic spa date for two" I read out, smiling after "it will be relaxing" she adds on. I then grab a box and open I to see a beautiful watch "Amanda no you-" I start "no Joe you deserve it" she says, stopping me. I kiss her and put the empty bag next to me "and you have one more gift which I can give to you tomorrow after the spa treatment but that's too bad for me to say" she says, winking "naughty naughty" I chuckle, resting my hands on her waist "I love you Joe and I can't wait to start a family with you" she mumbles, staring at me smiling "I love you more. I always will" I smile, feeling the familiar butterflies in my stomach like I do almost every time she says those three words or when she acts adorable. I know we've been together for 2 years and I should be over it but I still feel that feeling I felt when I first hugged her at the airport and treasured that moment. And when we kissed at digifest, I can't even explain how amazing it was! I'm just so happy I have her to hold in my arms.

A/N so sorry I haven't updated in ages! I've been super busy with stuff plus I've been finding it hard to write lmao

My answer: I one day started thinking what it would be like to be Tyler's sister so I started randomly writing about being his sister and then all of this happened!
