_"G's POV"_

C was talking, but then they suddenly stopped. They lost balance and fell, only to be caught by me. They looked like they were in a lot of pain. Their teeth was clamped shut, hands were in a fist.

Without noticing it, I slowly fell to the ground, kneeling, with C's body laid atop of my lap. Tear pricking my eyes, I cried not wanting something bad to happen to them. But then, I felt something like a mallet being swung and with all force, hit the back of my head.

The wave of pain that came with the impact made me fall on top of C's chest. Before I closed my eyes, I tried to look at what hit me, but to my surprise, nobody was there. I closed my eyes and just let the darkness succumb me.

It felt like hours, but I finally saw something. I opened my eyes and saw trees. The forest. It took a while for my eyes to adjust to the dim light of the forest, but when it did, the first thing I saw was C. Tears staining their face. I smiled weakly, and they seemed to react to it positively since they smiled back at me.

I tried to sit up, and utterly failed, making my fall back to C's lap.

"G! Woah, slow down. You just woke up. Just lay down for awhile."

"Ughh... what happened? My head hurts."

"Yeah, I thought so. I didn't know what happened to you, but my everything around me just started spinning. My legs felt weak, like it was made of jelly. Then my head started to pound REALLY hard, then it just vanished, then I felt you land on my chest. You just passed out suddenly."

"Huh, odd..."

"Indeed it is."

Someone spoke behind us. It made both me and C jump. We looked at the new figure, who is now standing in front of us.

"Who-who are you...?"

C asked. His voice shacking, slightly cracking due to fright.

"There is no need to be afraid dear one. My name is Hope, I am a wisp, I have watched you ever since you have arrived. It is odd that 'he' chose you to see us. 'He' does not make this decision lightly... both of you don't know the identity, or the names of each other correct?"

Me and C nodded. We were terrified. Hope? A wisp? 'He'? Who is 'he'? What is she even talking about?

"Hmm... it's been a few centuries since I was sent by 'he' to deal with mortals like you. And you two seem very...odd. Normally, mortals like you know WHY they see us, its for them to find who they are. To find out their purpose. But you two are different. 'He' did not say anything about you two finding out your purpose. You already know who you are... you say you don't remember anything about your childhood?"

This time, C spoke up. Obviously trying to find answers.

"Yes, that's right. But before we answer anymore of your questions, who in the world is 'he'? Is this like, your boss? And your a wisp? What even is that? And what do you mean people like us? Centuries ago? You mean other people are like us? They can see the figures to? Is this passed down from generation to generation or something?"

"Peace dear one. All questions are answered in their own time. But I will answer one of your questions, the rest can be answered once both of you know more. Mere mortals or 'people' like you are randomly chosen to fulfill something. Something they could not have done alone, or in a different way. And wisps like me, help them in a way that will not disturb their progress. We try not to get in the way of their encounter with each figure."

From the loom on their face, C was about to let out more questions when I stopped them by placing a hand on their shoulder. C seemed to stiffen, but instantly relax under my touch.

And this time, I was the one who spoke.

"Alright...let me get this straight. In the old days, people used to be chosen to see figures like us? And wisps like yourself, help them achieve the reason they can see the figures. And this 'he' tells you who to look after?"

I asked, trying to make everything more clear. By now, C was laying his head on my shoulder, while I absent mindedly rub circles around his back. He seemed to enjoy it, so I didn't stop. It also helped me calm down.

"Yes. Wisps are responsible for the persons safety. We must make sure that they get to the their that's the safest way possible. It doesn't sound much, but when you see what its like to BE a wisps, you will find it much more difficult than it sounds."

I opened my mouth to ask who this 'he' was, but was stopped when thick and dense fog started to roll in, surrounding me, C, and our wisp -Hope-.

The fog started to to cover the forest, wrapping it like a blanket, it covered my vision and my eyelids started to feel heavy. I looked down at C, they were asleep. Snoring softly, their lips were slightly apart. If I wasn't feeling sleepy, I would be smiling, blushing like a mad man.

"It seems that your time here is over. I will meet you again soon. But for now, sleep. Let the darkness be comforting for your sleep. The faint yet beautiful sounds of the forest be you lullaby as you drift back to you world."

With each word Hope said, I felt myself fall deeper into a slumber, but before I fell fully into sleep, I heard her whisper.

"Goodnight George, goodnight..."

She said my name... and C's... but I didn't hear it, before the darkness fully succumbed me, and I fell into a deep sleep.
