_'George's POV'_

Clay got up and went to get his friend. I looked down to stare at my hands. Trust...I trust him...

I haven't given anyone my trust in so long. It feels nice, being able to trust someone again.

I smiled to myself and went back to reading my book, but my mind kept wandering back to the words I said to Clay before he left.

A few minutes went by, I managed to drift my mind to the book I was reading. I was so caught up in it that I didn't notice Clay and Nick standing in front of me.

"Hey George! Nick, meet George, George meet Nick, my bestfriend!"

Clay said, a smile never leaving his face.

"Hey"

I turned to Nick when I heard him speak. He seemed like those trouble maker, but I don't judge a book by its cover.

"Hi"

I said casually. I tried to hide the nervousness from my voice as best as I could, but what Clay said next made me realize I didn't do a good job.

"George, I promise you, Nick wont tell ANYONE about this place. Trust me."

I looked at Clay, determination was lacing his voice when he said that, which made my nervousness subside.

Hearing those words come out of his mouth made me feel safer when I'm with him.

"Ye, Clay told me how you LOVED being alone, so I wont snitch."

"Thanks, I really don't like being in the crowd. It makes me feel little."

"Ye, I know what you mean. With Clay being SO popular, its almost IMPOSSIBLE tp get silence. Especially since girls swoon over him so much."

Nick ranting about Clay's popularity being annoying was extremely amusing. I stifled a giggle, not wanting to stop Nick from his ranting session. It was very satisfying.

"Sometimes its even impossible for me to even come near him. He's always being confessed to, or our friends are trying to make him hook them up with one of the girls that confess to him. Its ANNOYING!"

"Hmm, speaking of girls, Clay why don't you have a girlfriend? Coming from Nick it seems like a lot of girls are waiting to be claimed by you."

I said in a joking manner, which made Nick double over laughing.

Clay rolled his eyes at Nick who was still dying of laughter.

"I don't have a girlfriend because I'm gay. I was never interested in girls.

When he said that, my jaw dropped. Which made Nick -who just recovered from his fits of laughter- die of laughter. Again.

"Huh? Wait wait wait...your GAY?! HUH!?"

"Is it really that surprising? I mean, I haven't really came out as gay, but I think the way how I don't like girls just gives it away."

"You may not like girls, but that doesn't mean we would find out your gay. Some straight people just don't love that easily. Some may not even get attracted to anyone at all."

"Huh. Never thought about it that way."

"Do your friends know? You said you haven't came out as gay yet, but do they know?"

Clay, who was just about to speak, got cut off by Nick, who looked like they just ran a marathon since he was panting from the lack of air.

"No, our friends don't know about him being gay. They don't really support LGBTQ+ much. Why do you think Zak and Darryl got casted out of the group? Its not because they weren't popular anymore."

"Oh, wow. That's messed up..."

A weird silence covered us. That was until someone arrived.

"There you are George! We were looking for you!"

I snapped my attention the the crack that led to the garden.

"Oh, hey Darryl!"
