When Phoenix and I got in the local bus at four, we were very excited. We didn’t even bother to go to the back of the bus. We didn’t care to sit down. All we cared about at that moment was that we could go shopping.

“Do you think that the stores will have One Direction clothes for tonight?” Phoenix asked worriedly. “I mean, I want to look good for One Direction.”

“Girl, chill out!” I whined. “We’re thirteen! They’ll think we’re fine.”

We strode into the store and found two matching tank tops sporting all the band members, front and back. The two of us also found two pairs of jeans with the 1D logo on the legs. Phoenix found some earrings and a cute purse. Meanwhile, I found a D.S. case with the whole band on it.

“Arizona!” Phoenix scolded. “Get some accessories! I don’t want to look like a fool all dressed up with someone trying to sell merchandise!”

I reluctantly found a necklace that brought out my eyes and smile, and we headed out. When we arrived at the waterfront in Bangor, Maine, there was no line. Everyone was already inside the gates. Phoenix and I rushed to the guard, who luckily let us in.

“Where do we go now?” Phoenix asked over the loud crowd.

“Luke and Nathan said they would meet us near the back door.” I guessed. “Let’s try there.”

On our way to the back door, Cody Simpson entered the arena as the opening act. The teenage audience erupted in cheers.

Trying to ignore Cody, we continued our journey across the waterfront. I spotted our new found friends at the backstage door.

“Hey guys!” Phoenix called. She ran over to them. “How’s it going?”

Luke and Nathan laughed and led us backstage. While Phoenix and I were checking out a clothes rack, they disappeared. We wondered around the backstage area until we found a light. Phoenix pushed me toward it and we slowly followed the light down a narrow hallway. Finally, we found ourselves next to the stage where Cody Simpson was preforming.

All of a sudden, Phoenix and I heard voices behind us. I hid behind a large yellow tank full of glitter dust, and Phoenix hid behind me. The voices got closer and closer. They seemed to stop right in front of us. I peeked to side of the tank and saw One Direction standing there.

“Where are the girls?” Harry asked.

“I don’t know, are you sure you saw them?” Liam directed his question to Louis and Niall.

“Dude, I’m sure!” complained Niall.

“Please, believe us.” Louis pleaded.

Phoenix bent over and picked up a tiny pebble. She looked both ways, as if crossing a street, and chucked it at Zayn.

“Ow!” Zayn screamed. “Who did that?!”

“Dude, shush!” Niall scolded. “You don’t want anyone to hear you, especially if the girls are around here.”

I picked up a pebble and threw it at the back of Louis’s head.

“Something just touched me.” Louis stated. “Harry, hold me!”

Louis jumped on Harry’s back. Harry fell into Liam, who fell into Niall, who fell into Zayn, who fell into the wall.

“Oh my god!” Phoenix cried. “We’re going to die! They fell into the wall right next to us!”

“Did you hear something?” Liam asked as they got to their feet.

“Maybe. Did you?” Louis asked, sticking his tongue out at Harry.
