Drianna arrived with a happy grin on her face. She walked inside and settled her bag on the couch before flopping herself down. She groaned as she closed her eyes. Woah! Why the sudden change in mood?

“Hectic day?” I asked as I got my hard drive and connected it to the flat screen television.

“Nope. It’s more like a hectic life.” She clarified.

“What’s wrong now?” I asked as I flopped down next to her.

“I’m just tired. Mom is getting in my nerves again.” She said with a groan. I smiled to lighten the atmosphere. She’s the type of girl with a lot of expectations on her shoulder. Well, she is Miss almost-perfect after all. One look at her and that title would come in your mind. But behind all that she also has worries and dilemmas.

She sighed and smiled back. “Movie?”

I nodded and grabbed the remote, turned on the television and began flipping through the list of downloaded movies in my hard disk. I have more than a hundred fifty movies here. I just love watching movies. It gives me new ideas on how I want my imaginary life to unravel inside my head.

The movie is beginning. And there I am, finally enjoying reality. My head jerked forward as something hit the back of the head. I turned around to find Miguel and Raphael laughing out loud. Two pillows were on the floor, evidence of their crime. I didn’t even hear them enter the house.

I let it pass but send a glare at them. It doesn’t do any good. They’re unaffected as they walked towards the couch. Raphael sat beside me while Miguel sat on the armrest.

Raphael and Miguel are also our cousins. They live right across the street too. They’re the fun and somewhat annoying, but in a good way, kind of persons in my life. They have always been there every time I’m bored or I just want company. Yup, life would be so boring without them.

“What are you watching?” Raphael asked.

“A walk to remember.” I answered.

“What?! Oh come on!” Miguel argued “That is so lame.”

“So gay!” Raphael agrees with his brother.

Cousins can be so annoying sometimes but I love them anyway. They make life fun when I look past their egotistic attitudes. Plus, they add the adventure to my life. And I like bickering with guys. I like them annoying me.

The movie is nearing the end where the girl in the movie is about to die. No one utters any word but the boys have been noisy, making nonsense comments every now and then before this scene.

“Drianna’s going to cry!” Miguel mocked holding back a laugh.

“Awww, look at her!” Raphael said pointing at her face with a mocking grin. “Don’t hold it back. Just let it go.”

“Quit it!” Drianna said as she whacked the back of their heads, never tearing her eyes off the screen. The boys chuckled. I couldn’t hold back my own laugh.

After four more movies night fell and it was time to go home and relax. Rey and Martina came home while Raphael, Miguel and Drianna left. We ate dinner and went to bed. My day was so unproductive but that’s the purpose of vacation.

“Get up!” Martina said as she bounced on my bed. I hate waking up in the morning. I hate all mornings no matter what surprises it brings.

“I’m up!” I said as I threw a pillow at her. She giggled as she crashed on top of me on purpose. This is so not the morning I wish I could wake up to. “Get up so I could get ready.”
