The Unfinal Blow

Chapter 2: Ticking

              Spencer's eyes meet mine. We knew. This whole thing was a trap. To get us into this position. 

            "Ok, bye!" said the little girl. 

            "Excuse me?"

            "Yeah, he paid us money to pretend so you would come down here or something." The girl pulled a key out of her pocket and unlocked the door. The whole family left before we could do anything about it. Spencer and I ran over to the lock immediately, but it was too difficult to figure out. The bomb was at 10 minutes. 

            "Spencer," 

           "No, I know what you are going to say. I don't want to hear it. I can't accept it. We can't give up. We need to get out of here somehow." 9 minutes.

          "There isn't much time. With no way out, let's just pray," my voice cracks. "There isn't anything we can do." My eyes water. I start to rub my eyes, and feel a warm embrace. He hugged me for the first time in my life. We sat down on the floor and hugged. Although nobody had said it, we both knew it. Time to prepare for death. 7 minutes.

          "Spencer, I need to tell you something. I've been keeping it from you this whole time, and I just can't stand it. I like you." 

          "Yeah, I know. I like you too."

         "No, not like that. I love you, Spence." 6 minutes. 

          "Oh," he responded. His face flushed bright pink. He pulled me a little tighter. 5 minutes.

           "I didn't know how to tell you." Our eyes met. Something clicked. He leaned in.

            "Wait," Spencer says.

           "Yeah?" 

            "Is that alright with you?"

            "Oh, yeah. We are going to die aren't we," I say. We both chuckle, as if it's a funny joke. I just wish it hadn't become reality. I lean in, and his lips lock with mine. 4 minutes. I come up for air and look him in the eyes. Somehow, I feel like a pile of bricks were lifted from my chest. 2 minutes. 

              "Y/N, can you check for wires we can pull?" Spencer asks. Although we already checked, it was worth a shot. I helped him to pull the table away from the wall, but when we do, there are at least 100 wires. There's no time to figure it out. 10 seconds. 

            I embrace him again and shut my eyes tight. 6. 5. 4. 3. 2. 1.BOOM!
