After our first date we began to spend a significant amount of time together. One of us seemed to always be at the others house, or out somewhere together. He was always very kind and gentle with me, even on days it was obvious I was struggling with myself. I met his best friend, and he was right, Jonathan is a big himbo. He loved Erina so much but he was just such an idiot. Erina was very kind but serious. She did not put up with any of Jonathan's shit.

One day a few weeks later I was at Speedwagon's house because we were having a date in, we were going to watch movies together and relax because we had both been pretty stressed from work. It was supposed to be just the two of us.

I was sprawled across the couch waiting for him to come back. Again, it was just supposed to be us and we had become very close, so I was wearing one of his shirts and some sweatpants, they were comfy and he smelled nice okay? Robert walked into the living room, a big smile on his face. He just had on sweatpants.

"Okay, popcorn is ready, the snack table is already set up. Do we need anything else? Blankets? Drinks?" He sat the fresh bowl of popcorn on the table.

I rolled my eyes. "No, love, you've got it all. Now come cuddle. Pretty please?" I smiled and held my hands out to him. At home dates were my absolute favorite.

"Okay, okay. Sorry I just want you to feel at home." I sat up so he could sit with me and then snuggled up to him, laying on his chest as he wrapped his arm around me. "What are we watching tonight?" He grabbed the remote and started to flip through the options. I was about to answer when the doorbell rang. He frowned. "Just a moment I'll go see who that is. Don't move a muscle." He pressed a quick kiss to my lips and got up to go check the door.

I sighed and flopped back on the couch. I picked up the remote and started looking through the movies while I waited, I could hear him talking though.

"Ah... I'm a bit busy tonight..." Speedwagon said, clearly trying not to alert me.

"What do you mean? You're never busy. It's fine I wont bug you. I'll just stay in the guest room and leave you be." The voice sounded familiar but I couldn't quite place it.

"I mean I'm busy. Come on don't you have someone else you can bug for once? I always let you stay." He sounded very concerned.

"What's up with you man?" The voices got closer and I heard the front door close. "Do you have someone over or something cause you know I don't-" He stopped talking once he saw me sitting on the couch. Jonathan. It was Jonathan. "Oh. You guys still hang out. Usually people just get the goods an-" Speedwagon clapped his hand over Jonathan's mouth.

"That's quite enough. You can stay if you shut up." He glared at Jonathan. I sat up and bit my lip. "Thank you. We are having a movie night so don't make a ruckus." He said as he removed his hand.

"What? When have I ever bothered you." Jonathan winked at me and walked past the couch to the guest bedroom. Speedwagon appeared done with him already.

"I love that man but he can be quite the handful." He mumbled and sat next to me.

"I can go if you want. We can just reschedule." I looked over at him, reaching up and gently cupping the side of his face as I turned him towards me. "It's fine, really."

"No. I want to spend time with you." He gently placed his hand beneath my chin, staring at me with gentle eyes. "He can kiss my ass. We have plans. Besides, I always put him first." He smiled softly and kissed me gently. "Come on, let's get back to our night."

"Promise you don't need me to go?" I asked as we settled back into the couch.

"Swear on my life. Sometimes he pisses off Erina and he stays here until she's done being mad." He wrapped his arm around me and pulled me in close to his side.

I smiled and snuggled into him. "Okay, only cause you say so."

He kissed the top of my head. "I do say so."

We decided on a stop motion animation and stayed pretty close to each other as we watched. About halfway through the movie Jonathan wandered into the living room and sat next to us. I tried not to pay him any mind but I could tell it bothered Robert. I sat up a little and kissed his cheek, trying to distract him from it. It worked because he turned towards me and gave me his full attention. I smiled and kissed him lightly, sliding my arms up around his neck. He smiled and kissed me back, tugging me closer to him.

Jonathan, in a very exaggerated manner, coughed, then stretched out on the couch. Robert sighed and pressed his forehead to mine for a moment. He pressed a kiss to my cheek. "Just a moment." I moved out of his lap and he stood and grabbed Jonathan by his shirt. "Hall, now." I watched them walk to the hall until they disappeared. "What the hell is your problem? Huh? Can't I have anything for myself Jonathan?"

"What do you mean? I am just trying to make sure they are serious about you." Jonathan sounded irritated. "You are far too trusting, and I want to make sure that they have good intentions because I don't want to see you get hurt again."

"I can fend for myself. You do not need to vet every person that comes into my life." Speedwagon sounded angry at this point. I felt bad for listening but I didn't know where else to go.

"Really? Because every single time they ask you for money and then book it. How can you be sure they are here for you." Jonathan's voice was pleading.

"Because they don't even know about the money. They don't know. I never told them and they have never asked. They offer to pay every single time we do something, they are not in it for the money. Why is it so hard for you to believe that someone could genuinely care for me?"

Jonathan was silent. "I'm sorry. I guess I'm just paranoid."

"Yeah I'd say so." More silence.

Suddenly there were steps moving towards the living room, and then Jonathan was standing in front of me. He stared at me for a moment. "If you hurt him I will literally end your entire bloodline. He is the only family I have left."

I glanced to see if Robert had come back yet then looked at him. "I won't. I care about him."

His face softened for a moment. "You better." He turned and left, slamming the front door behind him.

Robert still didn't return so after a moment I got up and went to find him. He was standing in the hall staring out the window. "Are you okay?" I whispered. I didn't want to startle him.

"I don't know why he is so averse to you. You are possibly the most genuine person I have met thus far." He sighed and rubbed his face.

I frowned and walked up to him, hugging him from behind. "Maybe he's just afraid I'm trying to take you away. You are pretty great I'd be worried about it too. He's so used to having all of your attention."

"I guess you are right. It seems like you are always right." He turned and hugged me back, staring down at me. "I just wish he would take my feelings into consideration before he did things like crash our date nights." He reached up and held my face carefully, staring down at me.

I laughed and smiled, leaning into his touch. "I guess he does not think very much huh." I turned my face and pressed a kiss to his palm. "Come one. Let's go relax okay? No need to worry about it all night."

"Once again you are right. Let's get back to it then." He bent down and scooped me up bridal style. I yelped in surprise and he carried me back to the couch, sitting with me comfortably in his lap. "Do you wanna go rewind so we can actually watch the movie now?"

I chuckled and smiled, snuggling up to him. "Of course."
