Hailey sighed her gaze almost piercing through her locker, she could feel it. The Stares the obnoxious glares she felt as if they we're all just asking for her to take action and lash out on them. But she kept her calm demeanor, she wasn't about to waste her time on a bunch of worthless nobody's. Plus, she knew exactly what it would do to them. They'd feel as though they'd finally met their match, someone who was willing to stand their ground even without violence. All she had to do was stay silent, if nothing was said they couldn't hold anything against her and they'd just wound up forgetting she even existed. That's what she wanted, for people to forget. She wanted nothing more than for people to realise that she didn't want the attention, all she wanted was a bit of peace. But with those guys following her around all the time she was never gonna get it.
Hailey collected her things, her eyes never seeming to leave the ground. her walking pattern seemed to be almost Rhythmic. She couldn't stand it, their eyes shooting dagger-like glares at her. She would never understand what drove them to such measures but in the end, they were just people who would end up forgetting it all. By tomorrow, they wouldn't even remember the little incident that was occurring at that moment. Cause that's what always happened, they always forgot.
Hailey made her way to the music room, her eyes still fixed on the ground below her. They were the only four who managed to escape her grasp, they were the only five who could withstand it. What had happened that day was shocking in it's own right. But the day that followed was just as captivating. They were all there, staring not knowing who she was or what she'd done. It made her laugh, she knew it. She knew they'd end up forgetting, and that even if they tried. She was just a person passing by, she wasn't memorable enough to be remembered and she embraced It without a problem. But, five people stared at her without the usual bewildered eyes and that's when she knew, they'd managed to remember her. They passed by her though, not knowing her well enough to give her the time of day. But they hadn't forgotten, they knew exactly what her name was. They remembered her and it made her feel lost.
She blinked, staring momentarily at the ground. She knocked on the club room awaiting a response from the five people who didn't see her as a broken fragment of a forgotten memory but as a person they'd spoken to on occasions. Her eyes icy and cold seemed to soften when she saw her more so hyperactive best friend open the door for her “Hailey, Welcome back. We were just practicing on our instruments. You're welcome to join us!” Milly explained almost too happily for Hailey's liking. But instead of glaring like she usually did, she smiled. Her smile wasn't very warm or welcoming but it was the best she had.
Hailey sighed as she stepped into the club room, her gaze meeting her five best friends. Hailey laughed slightly as she looked up her smile slowly disappearing.
“You were the only ones who didn't forget me…”
Luke looked baffled, his smile almost non existent as he rubbed the back of his head, Hailey could tell he was agitated, Confused and almost slightly lost. She knew exactly what was going through his head, he was an open book always wearing his heart on his sleeve. She liked that about him, but she knew one day someone was going to take advantage of his carefree attitude. He trusted everybody and that was going to be his downfall. Hailey looked up waiting for him to say what was on his mind, his mouth was wide, he wanted to say something but it just wouldn't come out. He was confused, why did she think they'd forget her, and why would she believe that everyone else besides them had forgotten her. Hailey was confusing to say the least, she always managed to have him on the edge of his seat in suspension she used her mind and not her heart. Her heart almost seemed to be locked away, and unless she had a reason. She wasn't going to unlock it.
“do you really believe that everyone's forgotten you, is that really what you think?” Luke asked in an Serious but effortless tone. He wanted to know, he knew she liked to keep things to herself but he just wanted to know what was wrong with her. Why did she believe everybody would instantly forget her, but most importantly did she honestly believe everything she said. He hoped he'd misjudged her completely and that everything she said was just a Joke, but every time she'd say something involving this subject he'd slowly but surely start to believe it was true. He didn't want to, he wanted to believe she was just any normal teenager going through teenager problems but deep down, he knew that wasn't true. “Do you, do you really believe what you're saying?”
Hailey's eyes narrowed her eyebrows furrowing slightly. He really didn't trust her, and deep down it hurt but he was just like everyone else, someone who would leave her in the dust when it suited them. She didn't want to let her guard down, she didn't want to let that happen.
“I'm just a broken fragment of a person's imagination, once they grow up they forget. Even if I didn't believe what I was saying, I can't deny that what I'm saying is true. People forget me because they don't care about me, people forget me because I'm just another person passing by, I'm a memory that just can't be restored.”
