Everything was dark around her, fog making it nearly impossible for her to see the ground. Her legs hurt and her lungs burned, but she didn’t stop. The thing following her didn’t slow down, so she didn’t either. She quickly looked behind her, trying to see if the creature finally stopped following her, it didn’t.

Her bright red curls blocked half her vision when she turned her head back around, she didn’t care. She suddenly took a quick turn to the right, trying to confuse the creature. She kept running, avoiding the large trees standing in her way.

The creature let out a loud howl from behind her. She tried to speed up, but her body didn’t listen. She slowed down, she didn’t want to but she could barley breathe and her legs were throbbing. Her heart almost exploded when she turned around to face the creature coming her way.

She closed her eyes and took a shaky breath trough her lips, before being taken down by the creature. The little oxygen she had left in her body was slammed out when she hit the ground.

The creature bit her in her shoulder; she let out a loud scream, the pain almost unbearable. It felt like she was dying, like her heart stopped beating and all she could feel was pain. She slowly opened her eyes for a split second, with her blurred vision barley making out the bright blue eyes staring at her, before quickly closing them again. It hurt too much to to keep her eyes open.

Suddenly, the heavy weight of the blue-eyed creature was gone; it ran of in the night. Her heart started slowly beating again and she could manage to breath slow breaths. After what felt like hours and hours, she slowly opened her eyes again.

Her vision was still blurry and unfocused, but she could make out the trees above her. The pain in her shoulder was still there and she wanted to take a look at it. She slowly turned her head to take a look, but it was to dark.

She had to call her friend, Jane, to tell her she was okay. She should have listened to her. If she had stayed at the party, none of this would have happened. She scolded at herself and decided she needed to get home to clean her wound.

She tried sitting up, tried to reach her phone, which was safely tucked in her shoe, but she couldn’t. She sighed and tried bending her legs, so she could reach her foot. This one time her body cooperated and she could grab the phone.

She let out a sigh of relieve when she saw the battery was only half empty and she could call her friend. She scrolled trough her list of contacts until she found the name she was looking for.

She tapped on the name and waited for it to go over, after thirty seconds it went over to voicemail, asking her to leave a massage because Jane wasn’t there right now. She decided against leaving a message, she would tell her everything tomorrow.

She tried sitting up again, this time she didn’t fall back down. She slowly looked around, looking for the creature that bit her and could still be out there. When she saw nothing, she tried standing up.

She hissed in pain but didn’t stop with getting up. Her legs were wobbling underneath her weight, still sore from all the running she did. She put the phone back in her shoe and took a step forward, nearly falling down. She held onto a tree as she tried to breathe normally again.

After about ten minutes, maybe more, she tried walking again. This time she didn’t fall. She smiled at herself, proud she survived an animal attack and is still able to get herself home.

She tried to find her way back to the party, but failed. After walking for what felt like forever, she reached a road. She raised her eyebrows, she has never been here before. She started walking along the road, only wearing All Stars and a dark blue dress. Jane told her to wear her dress, ‘It makes your hair look even brighter’ she had said.
