'ON THE AIR'

"GOOD MORNING JOHN Adams High!" Mr. Feeny's voice boomed in the cafeteria's loudspeaker. "After a 10 year absence we've dusted off the console and put Patriot Radio back on the air." The sound of a pig squealing is played than fanfare. "And with me here, my engineer and wacky sidekick on the morning zoo - Mr. Alvin Meese."

"Thank you Mr. Feeny. You're a great friend to radio." Meese says

"That's enough Alvin," Mr. Feeny says, "nobody likes a mic hog. And now because the halls of our school best with the lively heart of contemporary youth, here is the happening sounds of Mr. Micheal Bolton."

Horrible music fills the cafeteria making everyone cover their ears and yelling. "I think my ears are going to pop!" Shawn yells

"I'm going deaf!" Cory shouts

"No! No!" Nat asks grabbing a plastic spoon, and kicking her chair over to the speaker before going on top of it and uses her spoon to cut the wires.

"Make it stop! Make it stop!" Cory shouts

"Hurry babe!" Shawn yells.

"No es fácil! It's hard cutting the wires with a plastic spoon!" Nat shouts.

"Oh just rip the whole speaker down!" Cory yells.

"Hey guys try this knife."

"Thanks." Nat says grabbing it but turns around with Cory and Shawn to see it's Mr. Turner.

The three gasp and point at him. "Down." He says. Shawn grabs Nat's hand as she steps off the chair. "Come on guys, the stations only been on for 5 minutes, is it really that bad?"

Mr. Feeny's voice spoke through the loudspeaker, "And now, for a little change of pace, a blast from my past, this is - Mr. Perry Como."

The three look over to their English teacher, "Look Mr. Turner," Cory says "you clip the wires, we'll cover for you."

"You don't like what you hear? Get on the air and do better." Mr. Turner says and begins to walk away.

"Us? On the radio?" Shawn asks as they follow him to his table.

"Yeah, see if you can't squeeze it in between doing nothing at school and nothing at home." The teacher replies
