She awoke the next morning as if the pain she felt from last night was nonexistent. She found herself in the same place where she had been stabbed from behind her and she watched in horror as Aldous tried so desperately to catch her in his arms before she felt herself slipping away from him. She felt a sense of...death around her as she managed to get back up on her feet and find that Aldous was gone from where she last saw him.
The sight of scattered bodies around frightened her as the life form their eyes was gone and blood pooled around them while their clothes were drenched in crimson. She wasn't sure how this happened as she ran toward the front doors and opened to find something much worse than what she just witnessed. Her precious Aldous, lying dead on the ground with a wooden stake driven into his chest and stained red along with his clothes.
Her heart shattered into a thousand pieces as she kneeled down to the boy she loved more than anything and was about to promise her a better life for them two of them together. She shed a few tears as she remembered the memories they had when they weren't supposed to be seen together expect with the company of family, and while Aldous's family didn't immediately approve of her at first, it didn't matter as Aldous found a way for them to be together forever.
Carefully removing the stake from his heart, she brought him closer in her arms as she wished to feel his presence once more and hear him speak softly and sweetly to her just one more time. She cried into his chest, that used to be so comforting, and then rested her forehead on his as she whispered softly to him as if he could still hear her voice again.
"My love, I'm sorry I couldn't save you. I promise that no matter how long it takes, I will exact revenge upon those who took you from me. And when that happens, we can finally be together forever."
Unfortunately for Aldous's lover, she was killed before she could keep her promise and therefore, the spirits of Frederick, Aldous, and Alan Blackwell that hung over the Blackwell Manor haunted any and all mortal beings who were seen as a threat to their noble name if they dared to stay in their sacred home. This curse would live on for more than a century until the summer of 2020.
