It's a frigid cold November day in Phoenix, Arizona, Sarah is driving home late at night from a friends house. As she pulls up to her house she sees a cluster of fire trucks and ambulances surrounded by lots of eye hurting blue and red light parked on and around her lawn. Terrified and confused about what's going on, Sarah scrambles to get out of the car hoping it's nothing too serious. She rushes to the front of the house to see her kitchen window complet shattered and strewn across her front lawn. Sarah tries to get to the front door but can't because she is stopped by a large EMT.
"Miss, do you have any idea where your mom is? Have you heard from her in the last 3 hours? Would have any clue to why she's not answering?". Sarah yanks free of the EMT's grasp as she tries to run to the front door again. The EMT stops her again.
"She's still in the house! I was out at a friends house and she was home alone. We had gotten into a large argument before I left. I haven't heard from her since last night around 7 oclock."
Confused, tired and worried that her mom isn't alive she drops to her knees continuing to call out at the top of her lungs "she's still in there, somebody go find her please!"
Sarah starts to lose hope that they will find her mom just as the EMT that was asking her all these questions rushes out to get help followed by 4 more emts and a gurney. Sarah, confused about what's happening, rushes through the large group of EMTs to see them delicately lifting her mother onto the bed.
"Miss, have you heard we found your mom met us in the ambulance!" extremely happy they found her, Sarah rushes to the ambulance waiting quietly for the EMT's to get there. Just as the EMTs walk up and get Sarah and her mom into the ambulance, Sarah starts to feel funny as her whole body starts to tingle and she blacks out.
Sarah groaned quietly, rubbing the remnants of sleep from her eyes. A strange smell caused her to jolt up and see the burning ship around her. The painfully familiar smoke burned her senses. Realizing she's no longer in the ambulance with her mom, she stands up confused just as she just as she sees her mom rush past her frantically calling 2 peoples names "Lissy, Jordan, come on we need to get off." together the 3 of them jump to the doc and off the boat. Sarah hears screams like someones being burned alive, she rushes to go help but there is an explosion and she is knocked unconscious.
Sarah wakes up to an extremely loud voice of an EMT and a light shining in her face. "Miss,w can you hear me? Are you alright?' Sarah sits up realizing she's back in the ambulance. 'Yeah i'm good, must've past out from worry.'' The EMT helps Sarah out of the ambulance as well as get her mother in the hospital to get checked by the doctors in the ER.
The doctors walk out of the rooms leaving Sarah and her mom in the room alone. It is quiet and slightly spooky to Sarah, not sure what's gonna happen to her mom. She has a few small tears run down the side of her face.
About an hour later Sarah wakes up to a very loud and annoying beeping coming from her moms monitor. Just as her vision clears she sees 1 2 3 heart beats and then the line goes flat with a very long loud alerting beep. Confused and panic she rushes out of the room to find the nurse,
"HELP SOMEBODY HELP MY MOMS GONE FLAT LINE! PLEASE SOMEBODY ANYBODY!"
Sarah turns around frantically rushing back to her mom's side as she gets pushed out of the way and told to wait in the waiting room till the doctors come to get her. 10 minutes later the head doctor comes out of her mom's room and walks up to sarah.
"I'm so sorry for your loss. Is there any family you can gostay with or are you old enough to go live on your own?"
in complete and utter shock she just stares at the doctor unsure what to say. "Sir i can call my grandmother but please tell me my mother isn't dead, there's NO WAY SHE'S DEAD!" understanding her pain the doctor calmly and softly replies with
"im sorry ma'am but she passed away 10 minutes ago we can't restart her heart or anything. I will give you time to gather your things and leave. Again i'm sorry for your loss." terrified about the future Sarah sinks to her knees and starts crying.
