The moment Beth and I walk into school we get bombarded by Brooke with Olivia in tow.
''Just the people I wanted to see''.
''Hey Brooke'', I say.
''It's Thursday, you know what that is don't you?''
''The second last day of school for the week?''Beth says sarcastically.
''No, cheerleading tryouts'', Brooke says way too cheerfully for Beth and mine liking.
''And?'', Beth says unamused.
''And we're all going to try out!''.
Brooke has got to be joking out of everyone here I'm the one person who shouldn't engage in cheerleading. ~
We walk to the track after school and see a few girls stretching. There's no point fighting Brooke she's the sort of person that never gives up, it's better for everyone you just do it to get it over with. Quicker the better.
Beth couldn't help but snicker ''You think they get wedgies every time they bend?''
I couldn't help but laugh which results in a huge death stare by Brooke.
Brooke throws us all pom-poms and starts showing us the tryout routine she made up. I would be lying if I said this wasn't a little fun.
I get the routine after about three or four shows after about the sixth show everyone gets it and is doing the routine at the same time as Brooke in sync.
''Perfect we can all try out together now with this routine'', Brooke says happily
''That's good'', I say.
"Oh I just cant wait should I buy some new short shorts and act more perkier than normal", Beth mocks causing Brooke to walk away ignoring her. I couldn't help snicker a laugh at Beth's comment, I mean it's stereotypical but the girls on this team, the comment is on point. ~ Before long it's our time or as Brooke says 'our time to strut our staff and sparkle' to show our routine in front of all the girls. Brooke is in the front and Olivia is on her side with Beth and me in the back.
''Ready, one, two three, hit it", Brooke cheers.
Hit it? oh wow, music is playing. great. For a cheerleader tryout performance, this is the last song I thought that will play. Did the track just meow? We start our moves and we all really get into it.
After the performance, it gives me a good rush and we all hug. We all really needed this after all the arguing that's been breaking us apart. We are finally in a good place again.
The captain of the cheerleading squad Cara gets up and starts pointing "in, in, in and in".
''Also we loved your try out performance so much that you're going to be showcasing it at the assembly tomorrow''. We all look at each other some happier than others, Beth by far the most annoyed. Who knows this could be fun? ~ I decide to keep this a secret from Liam give him a surprise, a good one I hope. Moments backstage my heart starts to pick up can I do this? I feel fear.
''Ok girls just remember what the moves are and we can do it'', Brooke say preppy.
''Are you sure?'', Olivia says.
''Hell yeah we're going to have the time of our so far lives''.
With that, we step on stage. The stage starts off dark with no lights on which was none of our idea but Brooke's and the music starts to play, a few people already start to clap.
As soon as the song says 'Don't call it a comeback' the lights go on and we start our cheering routine. While cheering I notice Liam in the background grinning watching my every move his eyes are so permanent on every move it's gets pretty intense, my eyes scan for Kye, I notice Kye talking to his friends but always keeping an eye on me but when he notices me looking back at him smiles, waves and mouths 'Get perky Liaa', which I smile back and shake my head. I can't help but notice for a glimpse of a second Jarrad staring at Olivia's every move and then staring at Beth laughing.
After the performance, we have a huge outpour of cheering and clapping. When we get behind the stage again.
"This is fun but I don't think I should be a cheerleader I think I should be a dancer'', I say.
''Yes and that I'll do with you",Beth says with a cough.
''You ok Beth''?, I ask worried.
'Yeah just sick'', Beth says.
"Oh ok, would you let Cara know that I won't be returning Brooke?", I say.
''Of course'', Brooke replies.
"And me too please", Beth asks.
