I arrived at Cape Town day before yesterday. I came by flight with my mom from Johannesburg. She left yesterday though to give me some alone time. Today Jayden was to arrive, to say I'm happy would be an understatement. I can't wait to see him.
After 2 years of talking to him on Instagram I'm finally going to meet him. I just wish he isn't catfishing me. God knows I'd run for the hills if when I go to fetch him then I'm faced with a 30 something year old man.
Speaking of Jayden I have about an hour or so to fetch him and to the airport it's a 30 minutes drive. I use this time to finish cleaning the apartment Jayden and I are going to live in for the rest of our university years together.
I finish cleaning, get into my car and head to the airport. On my way there I can't help but wonder if I'm ready to meet the person I've been crushing on for a very long time. Of course he doesn't know that I have a crush on him but that's how I want to keep it. I don't even release it but I have arrived at the airport, maybe it's because I've been singing BTS songs like nobodies business I forgot where I was.
I head out of my car and enter the airport, then I find my way to where arrivals be. It's 10 minutes since I've been here and I finally see a plane landing through the glass windows and I'm going to take a wild guess and say that that's the plane Jayden is in.
I can feel butterflies dancing in my stomach. Breathe in breathe out. I continue the breathing exercise.
The moment I see him walking through the doors my heart skips a beat. He is handsome. Through a pool of people he stands out.
He is tall in height, with hazel brown eyes behind his cute nerd glasses. For a minute we lock eyes. My heart rate quicken and my palms start sweating. Is this what love is, I mean I've never been in love so I don't know how it feels like.
He arrives next to me and gives me a big hug. "Hi" he says ever so sweetly. My heart stops for a second, I think I'm going to die! "Hey" I say after a few second of inhaling his scent. He smelled like the rain. My favourite weather.
"Doesn't this feel like 90 days fiancé?" I ask chuckling. " You moved to a foreign country to stay with me but as you study. You a boy I'm a girl, we have only met on the internet."
"Too bad we don't have any cameras filming us cause if we did it would have been 90 days for sure." We laugh together after his comment and head to where I parked my car.
"Nice car." He compliments.
"Thanks, my mom got it for me so that it'll be easy for me to commute." I say entering the car and he flows in and puts his bags on the back sit. The trip to our apartment is quiet with songs from the radio playing lowly but I don't mind it one bit.
"And we have arrived!" I announce in an excited voice. Because I'm very happy to be honest. "Yeah!"
He carries his bags all the way to our apartment. "Wow. This is nice." He stares around the place in awe.
"It is you hungry?" I ask leading him to his room. "Yeah eyy. Should we cook or order something?" He asks putting his things away. "We'll just order something from Uber Eats. Let's go for pizza plus they deliver for free, when we order ."
"Let's watch a movie as we wait for our food. I'll pick the movie and you order the pizza." He says walking out of his room.
Our rooms are close to each other meaning that I would be able to hear what he will be doing or saying in his room. Which is awesome and awkward. Awesome because I'll be able to know if he likes me more than a friend. Awkward because he might find a girlfriend and I'll hear them doing their business. Eww!
"Ouk." I take my phone and walk into the kitchen and call the pizza place. After finishing my call I walk back into the living room and find Jayden looking through a bunch of movies.
"Have you decided on anything yet?" I ask sitting down on the couch. "I'm conflicted between a comedy and an action." He says. I chuckle. "Let me help."
I move to him, grab the two movies from his hands, and sit cross legged on the carpet. "Picky pick," I start singing the song me and my friends used to sing when we were undecided while moving my pointer finger between the two movies.
"Mabelane sala sala gentlemen..." I continue singing until the song is over and my finger is pointing on the comedy. "Comedy it is."
"What were you singing?" He laughs.
"It's a song people here sing if they want to choose something but are undecided. And I'm 100% sure you are laughing at my singing voice but it's fine it's not like you can do any better." I smirk. In all honesty I just want him to sing for me. He has told that he has a beautiful voice and since from that day I wanted to hear him sing. I, on the other hand, cannot sing. I couldn't sing even if my life depended on it. I sing so horribly which is something you don't want to hear.
"Yes I am. But I love it." He then kisses my hand. That small contact with my hand turns me into a blushing mess. God I can't even handle a tiny kiss on my hand! The hell is wrong with me?!
"Let's watch the movie then!" I release a nervous chuckle. "You even chose the best movie 'Trevor Noah: There's a Gupta on my stoep'. I love this one." I smile and walk over to the couch.
Ding! dong!
"I'll go get the pizza." He says walking to the front door.
A minute later he comes back with the pizza and sits next to me on the couch. "Today is the start of new adventures." He says opening the pizza. "Cheers to that." I say raising the pizza I just took. Jayden mimics my gesture, "indeed.".
