Rose's POV:

It was past midnight but I was not getting any sleep. The events of the day replayed in my brain. As I was thinking about them I heard a scream from the room next to mine. It was Drake's. What must have happened to him that he screamed so loudly? I crept into his room to find him sitting in his bed, struggling to breathe and covered in sweat. It was a nightmare. I don't think he saw me so I went and sat down next to him.

I squeezed his shoulder lightly and said, "Tell me all about it."

He turned towards me and asked in a raspy voice, "Tell about what?"

"About your nightmare. Talking about it helps. It eases the fear."

"I dreamed about some of the things I had to do when I was with Jack. Some of the killings were horrible. We were expected to be ruthless."

I felt a pang of guilt within myself as I said, "I am so sorry. It is because of me that you have to go through these nightmares. I shouldn't have sent you to work with Jack."

He looked at me as though I had gone insane. He just shook his head, held my hand and said, "Hey, listen to me. None of this is your fault ok. I am not blaming you and neither should you. And after all the things you have done for me, this is nothing."

I smiled. Drake is really the opposite of what I thought him to be when I first met him.

"Drake, why don't we go out for a walk? Anyway, you won't be able to sleep for the rest of the night because of the nightmare."

"That's not necessary. You must be feeling sleepy. Sorry for waking you up so late in the night. Go and sleep, I'll be fine."

"First thing, no ways will I get sleep knowing that you are having trouble sleeping. Second, don't you dare tell sorry to me and third, you didn't wake me up. I as well couldn't sleep. So what do you say about that walk?"

"Fine let's go."

We both went down to the garden for a walk. We were walking in the gardens when I had an idea.

I said, "I want to take you somewhere. Wanna come?"

"Sure but where?"

"You'll know. Come fast."

We both went to the river nearby. The sound of the flowing river was very soothing and peaceful. We were walking just idly.

Drake said, "Why do I feel that you are somehow connected to this place?"

He's smart!

I smiled and said, "You are right. I do have some special connection to this place. This is the place where I first met your dad. Wanna know the story?"

"Yeah sure."

"It was about the time of sunset. It was spring and the weather was a bit hot. I was sitting by the river. It used to and still gives me peace. That's when I heard his voice. He had a soft voice. He said, "What are you doing here at this time of the day? It's nearly night." I turned to look at him. He had complete green eyes and there was innocence in them. He was the most handsome guy I had ever seen. I didn't say anything, just smiled at him. We introduced ourselves and then I headed back."
