CHAPTER 21

That was the first day of their journey of living together, only the two of them, married without fully knowing each other but somehow being completely made for each other. Neither of them would've expected to find themselves in this situation soon: Mew emptying his closet to make space for his husband and Gulf carrying all his stuff in a big suitcase and a backpack.

In fact when he arrived home and laid down on his bed slowly closing his eyes a memory came back on his mind

"Do you want to move in with me?"

He didn't know why but he didn't even stop to think twice, he took out of the storage his biggest luggage and throw it inside his favorite hoodies, trousers, two shirts, a few pair of shoes, socks and underwear, the same way he did with his toothbrush and all other essentials. What did he tell his parents was the funniest part though. Somehow he was totally forgetting about his parents watching tv in the living room when he carried his huge suitcase to the doorstep, the scene of his parents staring at him with a big question mark on their faces and Gulf staring back pouting, trying to find a good excuse for his behavior, and sincerely taking into consideration telling the truth, if only he wasn't sure it would've caused them a heart attack. And finally he said something between the truth and a lie, something similar to "I have a boyfriend and he asked me to move in with him, He's rich and his house is nice so I'm going. I mean it's in Manhattan, how can I decline. I'll call you when I arrive, love you" and he was out of the door before they could even process all the informations.

And that's how they were now causally watching a movie on the couch, around them a certain awkward atmosphere, Mew was so happy but since it was so sudden he was still a little shocked and Gulf felt the need to apologize  "I'm sorry I was too impulsive, I should've told you before bursting here" he said biting his lip staring at the his hands on his lap. Mew immediately held his hands and smiled sweetly shaking his head "No, I'm truly happy. I'm just surprised I guess...but I'm so happy" and seeing Gulf smile too he gave him a peck and turned back watching the tv, but now putting his arm around  Gulf that let his head fall onto his shoulder. They stayed in that position until the end titles appeared on the screen and Mew realized the younger had fallen asleep right there, he smiled looking at his peaceful expression and picking him up he took him to their bed.

The next morning Mew woke up to a sweet smell coming from the kitchen, when he arrived in the room Gulf smiled at him from behind the counter "Good morning, sorry for falling asleep last night" he was busy cooking something Mew couldn't see well without his lens on. "Why don't you sit down at the table, it's almost ready" the younger joyfully suggested "You don't have to cook for me or clen the house you know? I didn't tell you to move in to be my housemaid but to spend more time together" Gulf chuckled hearing the other talking so serious "I know don't worry, I just want to do this today, don't expect it to be a daily thing" he replied while bringing the plates to the table "I usually wake up late, and then I'm always in a hurry, and pancakes and meat are the only decent things I can cook actually, rice is always sticky and noodles overcooked. And I always burnt every cake I ever tried, and for the cleaning I'm not sure I'll be good at that, my dorm at college was a mess" he explained everything while looking at the older who smiled at him the whole time. "I can cook rice and noodles, and I like cleaning. I always wake up very soon and often go to a morning run. And although I'm very busy I'll try my best to make time for you". For some reason in that moment it felt right to talk about their routines and habits as they had suddenly moved in together but knew nothing about how the other lived.
Since even though it was a Monday both of them had the day off they decided to go shopping, for groceries and other stuff that they'd need.

"We're not buying matching mugs!" Mew complained looking at Gulf's grin while he held a cup with written 'hubby' on "Plus that is a set for wife and husband"
"We can buy two hubby's"
"Gulf no they're cringe! They're not going into my kitchen!"Mew was very strict but without much surprise to him Gulf's puppy eyes won and they ended up buying two similiar mugs, one blue and one yellow, both with the word hubby on it and a pair of mustache drawn. The shopping was fun until Mew's phone suddenly rang "Hello?... Yeah.. No, I'm out... What? How?" from how he raised his tone Gulf guessed something bad happened and that they're happy day was probably ending there, "Ok I'm coming" were the last words he heard him say before ending the call.

"Gulf I'm so sorry but there's a problem at the company, I need to go to take care of it, but I'll be as fast as I can so why don't you come with me?"

Sorry for the late update, I'm very busy with univeristy and somehow when I went to finish writing this chapter after I had already written half of it, it wasn't there anymore and I panicked so I had to take some time to remember what I had wrote and rewrite it (kind of... it's actually so different but it's fine ig). I hope you still like this story, it's getting long and we still have a long way to go, but at least now their friends now the truth. Oh btw did you like the story of the side couple of BoatMild? 😊
