"Alright, that's all for our meeting. You all dismissed now." I mentally screamed in excitement after I heard Miss Hill, my manager announced. Finally, this pain-in-ass meeting ended.
Before I could be ready to get my ass up from my seat, I had a bad feeling in my mind. That's the thing I'm fucking hate-love the most. I saw her sexy lips formed into a smirk.
God no, not this time.
I tried to relax and think the bright side. I bit my lips, exhaled, and shut my eyes. Unfortunately, next is what I originally expected.
"Except Hensley, you have to stay back and we need to talk." I groaned under my breath. This evil always gave me hard time since the first day I joined this hell of my life.
I was so envious when I was watching everyone start leaving this room. Jessie tried to hold her laugh as she glanced at me and mouthed 'Have fun' she winked at me as I rolled my eyes. Some of them even snickered under their breath while they walked past me.
Traitors.
After the door shut, I was watching this striking Satan in her white button-down blouse, pencil skirt, and her black stiletto click on the tiles walked across my seat and slipped in the spot elegantly.
She's gorgeous as usual even though she's exactly a Satan. She let her mid-length blonde down reveal her oval face. She was wearing her reading glass which looks endearing.
She is a goddess if she didn't open her mouth. She sighed lightly and pinched her bridge of the nose. She shut her eyes a moment, then slowly opened her eyes and stared at me.
That was what she always did before she started to roast me.
Her icy blue eyes were cold and sharp. If the eyes could kill I'll get killed instead. I shot my most generous smile, braced myself, and be ready for her 'shooting time.'
Her attractive gaze never leaves mine before she spoke. "Hensley, how long have you been worked at here?"
Her question caught me off guard. Usually, she would be preaching to me. But, today is different.
Aha! Perhaps she just has a small chat with me. Still, I have to be cool.
I replied momentarily, "One month."
She nodded her head, "What do you think you have achieved in this month?"
I grinned and said confidently, "I'm proud that I have done the task that you have assigned."
The corner of her lips slightly curve upward and said, "Very well. Do you know how long that task has to be completed?"
I hummed and tried to recall my assignment sheet before I answered her, "Two months? I think I have accomplished my task without out of time because based on the previous year, they have spent two months to complete this task."
She laughed, and she did it differently. Her melodic laughter echoes the empty room. I was stunned because she rarely did this.
"I love your sense of humor, Hensley." She said while she was laughing.
Seriously? What's happening? Is she the infamous Devil manager I know?
As being polite, I joined her to laugh. But, too soon her face turns into a straight face as I quickly stopped laughing as well.
Geez, this lady is bipolar.
This time, her fake smile plastered on her face "Hensley, let me explain to you our working plan. You have to listen carefully."
She exhaled, "The time frame to complete this assignment is within two months including the progress of your work, and reviewing from your senior, me, and the director."
She scoffed, "Do you know how many days for you to furnish your task before you submit it to us?"
I shook my head as she clicked her tongue with shook her head, "You have only one week to complete your task. The remaining time is for us to review, and finalize your assignment."
My jaw dropped after I heard every word roll out from her tongue. I just felt like I was like a basketball being dunked by my devil manager from heaven to hell.
No way, that task I have spent every night to do and sleepless. She expected me to complete within a fucking week?!
"Yes, you only have a week to do your part, but you have taken a month to complete it. So, you're making your superior, me and my boss lack of our time to complete this task. We might be making a loss if we worked more than 2 months." She said like she had heard what I said in my mind.
She smiled again but I could tell that is not a sincere smile. That's a bitchy smile for me, "Since you're new, this time is an exception for you. I hope you could work harder for your next task."
I mentally rolled my eyes.
Be patient Hensley, she is your 'boss'. She is always right.
Finally, I had to put my mind to force a smile and said, "Thank you, Miss Hill. I truly appreciate your patience and kindness in guiding me. Thank you for giving me a chance to do better for my upcoming tasks. I'll work hard for it."
She returned a smile, "I'm glad you will put more effort into your upcoming jobs."
She stood up and took a file, gradually walked toward me then placed the file onto the table. She rested her hand on my shoulder and patted lightly, "I hope you can do it as you have promised."
Then, I heard her faint voice near the exit of the meeting room, "Good luck and, I'm looking forward from you," With that, she left me alone in here.
I sighed dejectedly and flipped the file. I gasped in shock because the task Miss Hill has assigned to me was only one month for the whole team.
That's means I could sleep over at the office this coming weekend. I groaned and pulled out my hair in exasperate. I suppose could join my friend's party and I have to bail them.
Great! Rest in peace to my party life!
A/N: Tada a new story again 😂😂😂 I hope I could work it well.
