Team Saito

Chapter 3

Kusa smirked as he walked over to his two teammates. He was running late but he didn't care. 

"Hello, my quiet team! How did you both sleep?" He asked. Megumi looked at him and quickly went back to reading. Kusa frowned as Yowai turned away as well. Well, this is fun.

He sat down and smiled as he drew the clouds. He loved days like these so peaceful and quiet and-

"Whatcha drawing child 1?" Kusa jumped and dropped his book in a puddle next to him. Kai laughed as he watched his student try to dry his art book. "Alright everyone so hide and seek. The most complex game in Konoha. You have 5 minutes to hide anywhere in the village just dont leave the gates. I will have 2 hours to find you if I dont then you win and I'll accept you as my students if you lose then say goodbye to Team Saito and hello to the Academy. Any questions?" Megumi rose her hand nervously. "None then off you go!" 

Kusa quickly ran off followed by Yowai. Megumi looked around nervously and left. 

Kai smirked, "Welp thats over!" He smiled to himself at how smart he is getting his students to leave him alone for a couple of hours.

Kai hummed to himself as he walked through the town waving and smiling at people as he did. 

"Kai? What are you doing here? Aren't you meant to be testing your students?" Kai grinned as he turned around to face Iruka.

"Yeah, I am right now actually. We're playing hide and seek and I'm looking for them. Speaking of which want to get ramen? Im sure that girl will be there" Kai suggested as he grabbed Iruka's hand and lead the way. The two of them sat down side by side and ordered a bowl of ramen each. 

Iruka looked at him with a smile, "How are they? I figured you'd like them" Kai stopped eating and looked at Iruka. Well, you thought wrong. 

"They're great like the Kuda kid. Total boss and the Yawa kid quiet but powerful. And then there's the megmi girl beautiful and smart," Kai said as he was about to take a sip from his bottle. Iruka quickly put his hand in the way.

Iruka pulled the bottle away from him, "There names are Kusa, Yowai and Megumi. Kai, why do you keep taking teams if you hate it so much?" Kai frowned and looked up at Iruka.

"It makes me feel like I'm doing something to help the village rather than being the drunk ninja who messes everything up..." Iruka was shocked at that reply. How did he have no clue Kai was feeling like that? He felt like an idiot for not knowing. The two of them silently finished off their meals.

Kusa smiled as he walked through the town smiling and talking to people he knew. He didn't much care for this exercise and disliked his group anyway. He was actually looking for their sensei so he wouldn't have to keep playing this stupid game.

"Kusa!" He sighed and turned around to see his two teammates. Anxiety Girl and the other one. 

"What? I'm not interested in being in this team so if you want me to help you buzz off," He said as he walked off again. Megumi bit and walked after him.

"Come on Kusa, we can get to know each other. I'm sure soon we'll all be best of friends!" She said with a grin. "Or I'll have to pick you up and drag you to hide with us. Kusa you worked so hard to get into a team. Please don't throw it all away..." 

Kusa sighed and stopped walking before turning to face them, "Let's do this then. I suppose." Megumi grinned and grabbed her teammates hands and dragged them around.

Kai smiled as he and Iruka walked through the village. Kai and Iruka used to be on the same team so they know each other very well. 

"So when are you planning on finding your team?" Iruka asked the shorter man. 

Kai grinned, "Never. I'll just let them pass. They seem like the kind of kids who after lots of training and I mean tons of training they'll turn out as good ninjas." Iruka smiled. Despite Kai hating teaching and kids, he really does care for them and only chooses students who he thinks can do well.

Kai looked at the clock he had set, "Looks like I have a new team... Great." He said with a sigh but Iruka could tell them he was happy about it. 

"Kai-Sensei!" Kai and Iruka smiled at eachother as they turned around to see Kai's nee team glaring at him. 

Kusa sighed at his Sensei, "Did you even try to find us?" 

Kai grinned, "I knew where all of you were, I didn't go and find you however because you guys are probably in my top five groups I have been forced to test. I mean you're a the bottom of my top five because the other teams much better but still you're top five." He laughed as his team started yelling at him and trying to fight him.

Iruka smiled. Maybe they can help him...
