Rain trickled down the window as sweat dripped down her face as she sparred with her best friend. Elizabeth wiped the hair from her face as she looked down at her sparring partner and laughed. "Oh, how I love beating you." She wiped her hands on her trousers before extending one to help Christopher up. He swatted it away before jumping up. "So cocky but just you wait. And remember I taught you everything you know." He chuckled.
Elizabeth thought back to when she joined the Masters, it was shortly after her parents died and she was seeking revenge. Christopher was the half-human and half-elf teenager she gawked at when she first arrived. They soon became friends after she bumped into him in the hall on her way to her first training lesson. Elizabeth thought he was extremely good looking and was slightly attracted to him but as time went on and their friendship grew she grew less and less attracted to him or so she thought.
Elizabeth had cleaned up and changed into the black training gear that was left on her bed in the undecorated and plain room. She pulled her hair back into a ponytail before heading out the door. Not looking where she was going she bumped into a sturdy figure and fell backwards. "Sorry." A male voice said. Elizabeth slowly looked up and locked eyes with the boy she recognised from earlier. He extended a hand to help her up which she took. He pulled her up. "You're the girl I spotted staring at me earlier." He laughed. Elizabeth blushed averting her eyes from him and chuckled. "Yeah, I am." The boy tilted his head. "I'm Christopher and you are?" Elizabeth snapped her head up. "Elizabeth. My name is Elizabeth." "It's nice to meet you Elizabeth."
Elizabeth was brought back to reality when her back hit the ground and she saw Christopher standing over laughing hard. She shook her head. "Shut up." She said annoyed jumping up. "It serves you right, you can't be distracted." He walked over to her, spinning her to face him. Christopher rested his palms on her shoulders that were glistening with sweat. "Remember what I taught you when you first started." Elizabeth turned to look out the window, her mind drifted back to five years ago when she was a completely different person.
Elizabeth had been training with multiple different people both experienced teenagers and adults before Christopher offered to help train her. She walked into one of the training rooms expecting to see one of her usual trainers but was shocked to see Christopher stretching in the corner of the room. "Oh sorry, I must have the wrong room." She apologised spinning quickly on her heels but she didn't make it out of the room. "No, actually you have the right room. I am your trainer for the day." He smirked at her. "Okay. Whatever you say. What's your name again?" She jokingly asked. He laughed softly and she made her way over to him. "Funny but that isn't going to make me go easier on you." She gave a mocking defeat as she playfully stomped her foot. "Aww damn." It was at that moment she knew that they were going to get along just fine. "So let me see your fighting position." He demanded, folding his arm over his chest. So that is what Elizabeth did, she turned to the side, bent her knees slightly and placed her first just in front of her chin and mouth. She had been practising this move in her spare time making sure that her body was tight and secure so that her fighting moves could be precise and clean. Elizabeth was fairly confident that she had this move locked down but there was a look on his face that made her question otherwise. Christopher had his hand on his chin with a questionable look on his face. He rushed over to stand behind her and placed his hands on her waist. Elizabeth was certain that she felt a spark but pushed it off as to her mind playing tricks on her. He moved her waist to the left. "You need to make your stomach a bit tighter." He advised her before clamping his hands on her shoulders and pulling them back a bit. "Also you need to straighten up a bit. It makes it harder for you to get knocked over." He was now standing in front of her. She could see his features better than when she first noticed him, his scruffy brown hair and piercing blue eyes and the points on the top of his ears. He was an elf, she was surprised, all this time she thought he was just like her but she was wrong. Christopher snapped his fingers in front of her face to get her to snap out of her trance. Once he gets her attention again he continues to speak. "I'll tell you what I tell everyone, focus on your opponent, nothing else, nothing that is going to distract you from your fight. Just focus on what or who is in front of you and which moves you can use to defeat them." He paused looking at her once over. "Do you understand?" She just nodded her head repeating what he just told her over and over again in her head.
