episode 8 || nate and maddy's breakup

in the finale of season 1, maddy finally recognized her and nate's relationship isn't healthy anymore, because he was abusive and psychotic. now obviously it's true and i'm happy that maddy and nate broke up but on good terms and not awful terms as in making each other jealous by dancing with other people. but to me it seems like maddy can never get away from nate, no matter what he'd do. a lot of theories between nate and maddy has been shared, but it'd be easier to detail the theory and break it into 2 pieces.

theory:

now people all over the internet have said that maddy and nate didn't actually break up, and that there's no way they can get away from a bad habit that easily. here's some people's thoughts i think i can reflect on.

"i definitely don't think they broke up. this was just them acknowledging how toxic their relationship is and that they should break up but I doubt they actually will. maddy sees nate as her escape from the life her parents have and I don't think she's quite ready to realize that she can achieve her goals without having to accept physical and emotional abuse. I'd be really surprised if they aren't together the next time we see them."

now i think this is true. there's 2 paths that maddy would choose. she would either go back to nate, because there's no way they would leave each other that easily knowing maddy has so much love for nate even if there's toxicity in between it. i don't think she's really realized at all yet that it isn't good for her. in season 2 maddy and nate might hook up once or twice, seeing them in the first 8 episodes of the show really indicates who they are so i can visualize that they would definitely hook up in season 2. the other path that everyone is talking about is the cd of jules and cal jacobs. everybody thinks that maddy might get revenge on nate with the cd now that she has it. now from my pov of that theory is that this one might happen as well, maddy and jules are pretty much friends and they could possibly team up to destroy nate. even though jules doesn't want to talk about it, maddy reaching out to her might give her the speck of courage to plot against him too. it's possible that both of these paths could take place in season 2.

i'm really encouraged about this one and i hope this one actually happens because yk sometimes i get rlly pissed at maddy's choices so i hope that she can have a realization that she's living in an unhealthy environment
