Chapter 1

Nico awoke with a start. It was a week since the campers had saved the world. Again.

He and Will had been spending any spare time they had together. Nico would even go and help out in the infirmary from time to time. Just to help out, of course. It wasn't because he had a crush on the son of Apollo.

Today Nico and Will had planned to go out into the forest, since this was the first time Will had been free since Gaia had awoken. They knew that he would have to go back to work soon so they'd asked Dionysus for a little time off. Luckily, he was in a good mood and didn't laugh in their faces or turn them into dolphins. He was known to do that to some of the campers who had got on his bad side.

After he'd sorted himself out, Nico stood in front of the Apollo cabin. As he played with his skull ring, like he always did when he was nervous.

"Gods sake," Nico muttered. " Even though he's the one who arranged this 'walk', he sure is taking his time."

He looked up from the ground and caught his breath. There he was. His sunshine in the world he had previously thought full of darkness. There as the boy that had made him forget totally about his past and made him imagine a happy future.

Will. The head of the Apollo cabin.

"Ready?" Will asked in that relaxed voice of his.

"Why are you asking if I'm ready? You're the one who was late and made me come here instead." Nico shot back. He knew it was a bit harsh but it wasn't he who had taken a long time to get ready.

"Actually, I didn't make you come here. You came here of your own accord." Replied Will.

"Whatever"

Questions flew around in Nico's head.

Why was he doing this? What does Will want? Why, of all people, did Will want to go for a walk with Nico?

But the main question was there. Like it had been since the end of the fight with Gaia and had continued to bug him. Since he had first seen Will in battle Hiding in the shadows, just as he had over a year ago. What feelings does he have for Will? Of course he didn't know the answer. This is so confusing. Like the time Eros himself had made Nico confess his love for Percy, Nico didn't know what the truth was. He knew he was over Percy, but he couldn't accept that he had a crush on Will. Even of he did have those warm, inviting, eyes and that blonde hair that fell perfectly on his tanned face...
