10.Family 

(Carlie's pov)  

As Tyler and I sat down I was beginning to get nervous. What were they going to say about me? Would they approve? Would they disapprove? I was beginning to hyper ventilate with everyone looking at me. That’s when Rosalie broke the silence. 

¨So you guys are together? Since when?¨ She asked shocked that she missed her sons change. 

¨Since last night" Alice said laughing, and Edward and Bella Joined in. Of course Alice would already know. I was  quiet, waiting for Emmitt to talk. Afraid that he was going to order me away for barging into his family. That seems like the appropriate thing to do.  

¨How dare you" Here it comes. 

¨How dare you not tell me that Im going to have grandchildren??¨ Emmitt yelled. I was so confused, I didn’t know what to say or do. Was he not mad I was with Tyler? Rosalie slapped Emmitt on the back of the head. 

¨Its too soon for that Emmitt, we aren't even sure if she can get pregnant¨ Rosalie said. So they thought I was pregnant? Whoa, that’s a shocker, I haven't even thought of that. I was going to say something but I couldn’t think of anything to say I was just so shocked. I thought they wouldn’t approve and he just worried about if I was going to give him grandchildren. Is that a good thing? I'm not sure. 

¨Are you serious dad?¨, Tyler finally said sounding clearly annoyed with Emmitt, ¨Carlie is over here going crazy because she thought you guys wouldn’t approve of her and all you can say is if shes having a child?¨ Tyler finished.  

-'Calm down Tyler, its okay' I sent Tyler through his mind, while squeezing his hand. 

¨Wouldn't approve?¨ Emmitt repeated Tyler's words, clearly confused. I was about to say something when the bell rang for last period. Everyone got up and said their goodbyes. Edward told me that we would all finish talking once we got to the house. 

The rest of the day I tried to pay attention but I was wondering what Emmitt was going to say. Finally it was time to go home. I got in the car and waited for Edward and Bella. They got in the car smiling, their love was something anyone could see and if you couldn’t see it you were blind. That’s my goal, to love someone as much as they love each other. Will I get that love with Tyler?  

¨Yes you will, Carlie. You guys are mates, you are made for him like Bella's made for me. You know your part of this family now and things are going to be hard but remember you have a family now.¨ Edward said seriously while looking at me through the mirror. I forgot he could read my mind, I smiled back and was quiet the whole ride to thee house.  

Family? I have a family now? Does that mean Emmitt approves? Family, wow. I've never thought id have one of those again. Am I ready for a family again? I guess only time can tell. 

When we got to the house Tyler met me outside of the car and took my hand. We walked together into the dining room and everyone was already sitting there. Everyone stopped talking once we made our way in. This is so nerve racking. We sit and Carlisle clears his throat, 

¨So Tyler, you and Carlie are together?¨ 

¨Yes.¨ I answered before Tyler could. I looked at Emmitt and Rosalie ready to talk, ¨I'm sorry, I understand if you don’t want me and him together because I just met you guys, I wo-¨  I was interrupted with Emmitt's laughing. I didn’t know what was going on. I looked around and everyone had amused smirks. Was it funny? 

¨Keep going Carlie, you killing me¨ between laughs. i laughed too realizing how silly I was. Once I started laughing everyone else started laughing too. Once everyone calmed down Carlisle talked again. 

¨ I think I speak on behalf of everyone when I say Welcome to the family and will will enjoy having you around.¨ I looked around and everyone was nodding with big smiles. 

¨ I cant Believe it my baby boy is growing up¨ Emmitt said pretending to cry. i started laughing and Tyler started blushing from embarrassment and I couldn’t help but think how blessed I am at this moment. I actually have a family to call my own. I cant wait to see what the future holds. I didn’t realize I was looking at Tyler until Emmitt starting singing  

¨Tyler and Carlie sitting in the tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G¨ Everyone started laughing again.  

Yes, life was going to be interesting. 

¨OKAYYYYY, since everything is cleared up now lets go shopping!¨ Alice screamed  

ugh, never mind.
