Chapter 12 :The Future Revealed

"I was in the Shadow city in the year 2105," I said.

"Whoa, that is epic," said Jack.

"Not as epic once you hear on," I said. "The city no longer belonged to the Shadows but the Shnaks."

"Seriously?!" shouted Jim.

"Are we in exile?" asked Ivy.

"No, but we managed to build an underground city," I replied.

"And where is this underground city located?" asked Sarah.

"Under an abandoned factory," I said.

"Wow, who's does this factory belong to? Steve McKinley," said Jack.

"Wrong, it belongs to me," I said.

"Really?" he said.

"Yeah, really,"

"Okay, are you the only one?"

"No,"

"Okay, great to know,"

"Guys, back to the topic please," Valentina said.

"Okay, our cars have been upgraded, and it can become a submarine. There is a tunnel which is connected to the sea. So, the submarine can just sneak onto the surface without being seen by the Shnaks," I said.

"Okay," Jim said.

"That's all?" asked Victor.

"I wish I could tell more but I can't," I said.

"Let's just make sure this future happens and we can get that future to happen," said Victor.

"Depends on the mayor's actions," I said.

"Now, what?" asked Valentina.

"Now, we get some rest because I want to show you something," I said.

We all went into our rooms while Ivy went into Valentina's room because there is a double-decker bed. Ivy and Valentina can get along and know each other. I went into my room and fell on the bed.

SX-75 came walking towards me and asked, "Do you want anything, Mike?"

"No, thank you," I answered.

"Okay," it said as it walked back to its charging tube to charge.

I let out a sigh and passed out again. I seemed to pass out a lot of times.

I was back at the year of 2105. This time, I caught a clearer glance at the future. I saw my future-self talking to my team. I have decided to eavesdrop what I said.

"This is the time where I was in the dream 13 years ago. So, I have to say to him not to change the future and let it happen because there is no stopping the mayor. The city we have built will put an end to the mayor's reign. If the future has changed, there is no stopping the mayor," my future-self said.

He turned to me and said, "You must let Steve rule the city and let the Risen Shnaks raid the Shadow city."

I woke up. Is my future-self dumb? Should I let the mayor rule the city with his kind? Whatever it is, I had no idea. I must follow my guts then. I looked at my watch and saw that I have slept for two hours. I heard someone knocking on my door. I opened my door and I saw Ivy standing there.

"Mind if I can come in?" she asked.

"No, I don't mind. Please, come in," I said as I opened the door wider.

She went in and said, "Your room is nicer than your teammate's room."

"Yeah, I'm the leader. So, I guess they chose the best room for me," I replied.

My room has the scenery of the city which is nice.

"I heard that you were dumb when you first came here," Ivy said.

"Well, I had to act dumb since I knew this place when I was 18," I replied.

"Why?" she asked.

"I had to cover my secret,"

"So, you acted dumb,"

"Yeah, pretty much,"

"Then, you acted smart and knew the history of the Shadows instantly that surprised your friends," she said.

"Yeah, couldn't help keeping the secret," I said.

"So, you had a dream?" she asked.

"Yeah," I said.

Then, there was more knocking on the door. I went to open the door and my friends were standing out there.

"What is it you want to show us, Mike?" asked Sarah.

"Follow me," I said.

They followed me as I cloaked my whole team including Ryan and the professor. We walked until we reached the end of the shield barrier. I led my team into the factory.

"So, it is real," said Jim.

"Yep, wait till you see what is underneath this place," I said.

"Which is?" Valentina asked.

"See for yourselves." I answered.

I led them towards the back of the tractor and typed the passcode and the scanner scanned my hand. The wall opened and we went into the room. The wall closed and I proceeded to the wall and the eye scanner came out of the wall and scanned my eye. The wall became soft after it scanned my eye and we went in. my team saw the society I built when I was 18. Everybody greeted my team.

"Everybody meet the infinity team," I said.

Bill said, "Oh, it is a pleasure to meet you guys."

"Hey," Jack said.

"Come, let me bring you to our project," I said as I went and pressed a button. There was a fake wall in front of us which vanished and there was a gigantic and wide glass in front of us. In front of the glass is the underground city which is 20000 feet deep and the width is the size of the whole Shadow city.

"This is your project and the future you saw," Jack said.

"Yes, there is more," I said. "We have to let the mayor rule the city with the Shnaks."

"Are you nuts?!" Jim shouted.

"Yes and no," I answered.

"What do you mean?" asked Sarah.

"What I meant is that we will build a weapon that can destroy the Shnaks when our city has been overtaken," I replied.

"So, we let Steve take over the city with gigantic snakes and we build a weapon that makes the Shnaks "poof"." Jack said.

"Something like that," I replied.

"Now, what do we do next?" asked Ivy.

"Now, we wait until our next mission comes," I replied.

We all stood at the same spot we were standing looking at the gigantic secret Shadow underground city we were building. Well, I have to say that the future of this city lies on our hands because we are the only ones who know the truth.
