Chunin Exams: Preliminaries

Third Person's POV

"I think we should open both scrolls" Sakura said as she analyzed the words on the wall. Naruto gave her the Heaven scroll and Team 7 looked at each other and nodded. Sakura and Naruto opened the scroll at the same time as Sasuke watched. They gasped at the content to see a kind of formula. Sakura tilted her head to the side while Naruto stared, the center seemed to form a lump making Sasuke widen his eyes and pull his teammates back
"It's a summoning... Naruto, Sakura! Let go of the scroll!" Sasuke demanded as Naruto and Sakura threw the scrolls. A figure appeared as the smoke started to clear out. Naruto narrowed his eyes but widen them
"Eh?"he said as Sakura and Sasuke did the same. The smoke cleared out and revealed their Homeroom teacher, Umino Iruka.

"It's been a while" he said with a smile.
"What are you doing here sensei?" Sakura asked, Iruka crossed his arms and chuckled
"We Chunin are given the task of welcoming back the Genin. I also came as a messenger" he said walking up to them
"Congratulations on surviving the second exam. I would like to treat you to some Ichiraku Ramen bu-"
"Alright!" Naruto yelled as he cut Iruka off and gave him a big hug
"Oi Naruto, listen to the end-"
"Ramen! Ramen! Believe it!" Naruto started cheering for ramen as both Sakura and Sasuke sat on the floor suddenly feeling exhausted from the blonde's energy. After Naruto calmed down Iruka explained to them about the meaning of the words on the wall.

"That's all of the messenger task" Iruka said with a smile. Team 7 stayed quiet but Naruto saluted and grinned
"Got it!" Iruka can only be worried about the blonde more which Naruto noticed
"Iruka-sensei, you don't have to worry! The moment you gave me this headband means that I'm a full-fledged ninja right?" Naruto said as Iruka smiled at the blonde
"Anyway, we're getting ramen right?" Naruto asked as Iruka slumped.

As Iruka left, Naruto slumped on the ground
"What are we gonna do now that we're here? There are still 3 days left until the third exam" he said as he rested his head on his hands
"All we can do now is rest. We'll need a lot of stamina and chakra for the third exam" Sasuke said as he started relaxing. Sakura stared at the two boys and relaxed too
"What about food?"
"Over there" Naruto had stars on his eyes as he went to the food and started eating as both Sakura and Sasuke sigh.

Everyone who passed the second exam gathered at the place (refer to pic above)
"Congratulations on passing the second exam!" Anko congratulated the remaining Genin. Naruto glanced at Gaara and decided to talk to him, 'Gaara!'
'Naruto?'
'Looks like you passed, congrats! When did you arrive?'
'An hour and 37 minutes after the test started..' Naruto stayed quiet until he made an unbelievable face
'EH? Really? You just broke the highest record on Chunin exams, ya know! That's so cool!' Gaara smiled a little at the blonde's response as Baki looked at him confused.
"It feels like everyone is here" Sakura pointed out
"Now we'll have the third exam to be explained by Hokage-sama. Pay attention everyone!" Anko said as she let Hiruzen take over. Hiruzen then told them about the true purpose of the exam where not only will they choose Chunin but also to see the power levels of each village.

He was about to talk about the third exam when a Jonin went in front of Hiruzen and bowed
"Hokage-sama, please allow me, Gekko Hayate, given the task of judge to speak first" Hiruzen nodded as Hayate stood up and faced the Genin
"Nice to meet you.. there's somthing you have to.. before the third exam" Hayate said coughing lightly between his sentence. He coughed a few more times making the Genin sweat drop at the Jonin
"That is preliminary to the third exam, with participation on the finals on the line.." he calmly said earning a few protests and questions from the Genin.
"We need to narrow down the participants since we have a limited time and we don't want the audience to get bored with pointless matches.." he says impassively
"Those who.." his coughs kicked in again making a few Genin have worried looks, his coughing finally stopped and he continued
"Those who want to drop out please speak up now. The peliminary will begin immediately after. By the way, it will be an individual battle from now on.." a few Genins groan or quietly complained with the procedure.
