I've been living with my sister for almost a month now, Casey goes to great lengths to make me happy, as does her husband. Phil went to the trouble every morning and made me food for school and also with regard to pocket money - in general I get more than I deserve. I have occasional contact with my parents, but I limit it to the bare minimum. I don't necessarily have to be confronted with the same problems again. At school I actually made friends quickly and am part of a really great group of friends. Generally everyone here in Woodston is really nice to me.

Sometimes it's almost weird how nice they are to me and that my well-being is so taken care of. For me it is really something unknown, because apart from my siblings, nobody has ever really been interested in me personally in the past few years. Every time I stumble and slam a huge fuss is made, almost as if I could die if I land on the floor. But that I'm a clumsy clumsy is not news, especially Casey knows that. What is really funny is that everyone makes such a big deal out of the mayor coming back. He was probably on a trip with his advisors and were looking for someone or something like that, I haven't even climbed through that, apart from the fact that nobody really wants to tell me anything. It seems like a little secret, but everyone's theirs. I only have my little information secondhand, because honestly, there are a lot of rumors, especially in small towns.

"Maeve? Honey! You have to go right away, otherwise the supermarket will close before you have the things that you absolutely wanted for your cake. The money is on the dresser in the hallway. ", Phil yelled this news at me, which wasn't really new, after all, everything was agreed upon from the start. When I got downstairs, I ran past the kitchen where Casey and Phil were actually preparing everything for tonight, because the two had invited some of their friends. However, they were just about to eat each other up, something you don't necessarily want to see from your sister. "I really don't want to bother you, I'll be gone then. See you later and remember that you will get a visitor today! "Both looked up in shock and my sister buried her head in my brother-in-law to hide. He just looked at me with a smile and shook his head. I quickly raised my hand and waved to both of them, then disappeared into the hallway and grabbed the money from the dresser. just as I got to the door, I heard Casey shouting something to me. "Please remember your jacket, you shouldn't get sick!" There she was again, the concerned sister, but for her I quickly grabbed the next best one I could get between my hands. And then I really disappeared from the house, luckily the way to the supermarket wasn't very far, but you still needed your time. To distract myself, I started listening to some music.

When I finally got there, I grabbed a basket and walked through the rows while collecting the groceries I need. I didn't want to stay here any longer than necessary, after all, my bed was waiting for me and later I have to continue with my homework. And I'm pretty sure Casey still needs some help in the kitchen, so I went through my shopping list faster than I thought. Just as I was about to go to the cash register, my cell phone rang. Confused, I took Phil's call. "Hey, are you still shopping?" "Yes, why?". "Your sister forgot to bring fresh vegetables for the salad." From the background I could hear my sister complaining that he might have thought of it too. "Sure I can bring it with me." I could hear him breathe a sigh of relief, which made me giggle. "Okay see you later, Maevy. And thank you, you are a darling. "I hung up with a smile and started walking again in the direction of the vegetable department. Just as I was packing some cucumbers, I heard an astonished gasp behind me. Confused, I turned and saw a medium-sized young man staring at me like I was a wonder of the world, I was never looked at like that. His gray-blue eyes were looking for mine and now we just looked each other in the eye. Neither of us made a move until we broke loose. "I've never seen you here before, are you new here?" His voice was soft, almost as if he were afraid I would run away. "Eh.I've been living with my sister and her husband for a few weeks. I'm Maeve and you? "I smiled up at him. Because despite the fact that he wasn't overly tall, he was still significantly taller than me.

Something that is really not that difficult considering my size, after all I was only 5'2 and he was probably around 5'9. Suddenly it occurred to me again that the vegetables were needed at home, which is why I turned away apologetically and walked towards the till. Without looking around, I knew he was right behind me, something I would normally be uncomfortable with. But for some reason it was absolutely not in this case. "I'm Damon, nice to meet you. Have you settled in well? So before I mean here in Woodston. "I looked over at him in surprise, now Damon was standing next to me at the cash register and looked carefully at me. "Yes, quite a bit. It's really a great small town, especially the residents have become very dear to my heart. Even if I have to say that some can be very affectionate and caring. ", I said. He had to laugh at that. "Yes, the people here are very special." I nodded in agreement and put all my groceries on the counter, without any request he began to clear my basket with.

After paying and packing everything in my two bags and saying goodbye to my new acquaintance alias Damon, I made my way back home. When I got home, I was about to unlock the door when it was opened for me. Across from me was literally a giant, who simply looked at me and then took another step towards me and hugged me.

Confused, I frowned and tried to break away from the person opposite and his embrace. Unsuccessful. The only thing that happened was that he gave a very dissatisfied growl. "Buddy, can you let go of me?", My voice sounded strange to me and it was also quiet. Suddenly the voice of Phil came to the fore, the body of my counterpart immediately tensed when he heard Phil's voice. "Juri, please let go of her.", Phil's voice sounded convinced of himself. The giant "Juri" let nothing be told by him and only tightened his grip around my body even more. "It's her."

"I know, but she doesn't know anything about us. Let go of her, you really scare her." My brother-in-law really wasn't that wrong, but what the hell was he talking about.
