- Losers -
It's been a few more minutes and time is almost over. Bakugou and Midoriya have been making heaps of damage, I'm surprised that All Might hasn't told us to stop. With every explosion comes shouting and dust falling the ceiling.
This isn't good. Dammit.
I ran up to see how Iida was doing. He needed to be careful of Uraraka because of her quirk. Thankfully, there's nothing upstairs that she can use to help her get over to the rocket but with all these explosions from Midoriya's power to Bakugou's, I wouldn't be surprised if there were some parts lying around that would be useful for her.
I let out a sigh, quickly bursting through the doors to where Iida was. That is, until a massive rumble came through the building and the middle of the floor burst open, causing heaps of things to fly into the air.
Dammit Bakugou.
I ran over to Iida to help him get prepared to face Uraraka. We couldn't let her touch the rocket. We just couldn't. Bakugou probably wouldn't let it go if we lost either. He's a sore loser.
I stood in a fighting stance, waiting for her to attack, but as soon as I turn around she's out of sight. I quickly look up before seeing her behind us. Oh no.
I teleported onto the rocket as quick as possible but by the time I had done that, she had already gotten down on top of it while Iida tried to make sure none of the big pieces of debrie fell on top of us. And just like that...we had lost.
Uraraka definitely seemed excited but things with Bakugou and Midoriya got a bit out of hand. Midoriya once again had to go to the nurses wing to see Recovery Girl and Bakugou got scolded majorly.
They deserved that win though. Despite them both being pretty damaged at the end. They worked together. We didn't. Well, not all of us worked together. Iida and I communicated just fine. But Bakugou went off on his own. It was frustrating and hard to deal with.
If he had just listened...
I let out a long sigh, looking up at the ceiling before sending a glance towards Iida "we'll get them next time" I smiled, and he nodded in agreement. "Indeed we will. You did a great job, Ray. I just wished we could have won, even though Uraraka and Midoriya deserved the win."
I nodded. It would have been nice to win for once. I was sure to win something at some point, right?
Surely.
But so far I had lost pretty much everything that had been thrown in my direction. Whether it be with the villains or here. Nothing seemed to go well for me. Hopefully it would change soon though.
The league of villains have big plans coming up and I want to make sure we win those. Or at least get something good out of them. And I want to be one of the reasons why it became a success. Then they'd be able to be proud of me and I'd finally have a win up my sleeve.
Their approval meant everything to me. Absolutely everything. So far, they seemed to accept what I've been doing and they trust me. I mean, they wouldn't be sending me here of they didn't think I could do it, would they?
----
After being checked over by Recovery Girl ourselves and making sure we didn't have any serious injuries, we were able to go back to the room where All Might and the rest of the class was to watch the rest of them fight against each other.
I made sure to take mental notes of what everyone could do with their quirks. I also took mental notes of their strategies they used. All of them worked well as teams too. A lot better than we did. None of them were half as chaotic as our match was and it truly showed when no one else ended up in Recovery Girl's room for longer than Iida and I had to stay in there for.
It was fine though.
We still had plenty of chances to be able to show our teamwork skills later on. I was sure we'd have more opportunities to show what we could do. I mean, why wouldn't we? This was a school purely based on raising heroes and it was one of the best schools in Japan. It was amazing I even got into class 1A. Though, I do suppose I had a little bit of help.
I wouldn't be here if I didnt get caught trying to sneak in. And I had a feeling that I wouldn't be here either if I had run into any other teacher. But here we are and I'm so glad to be here.
Ever since I was little, I had wanted to become a hero like my father was. He was always overseas though so I didn't get to see him much. I can barely remember what he looks like. The only way I still can is because of photos in papers and on the internet I've been able to find of him.
After being taken in by Kurogiri, I had nothing. Nothing at all. No photos, no extra clothes, nothing to look after myself except for my mother's necklace. How he was able to get it, I'm not sure. But, he gave it to me when I turned 10 because he knew I'd be able to take care of it.
And honestly, I haven't taken it off properly since he gave it to me. I wear it everywhere. The only time I don't wear it is in the shower. For obvious reasons too.
I don't want to ruin the jewels.
It would be too painful if I had to replace them because then that would mean it's not the original. And I want to make sure that it's kept this way. Original. How it should be.
----
After everyone had finished facing each other, All Might brought us all back to the room and spoke with us. He was a good teacher but I still didn't particularly like him. Unlike everyone else here. They seemed to love him as the number one hero.
But I guess Tomura's and the others opinions have begun to run off on me. Well, they have been for a while but it's only been really noticeable until now. Everyone loves him as the number 1 hero and I don't see what the big deal is about. He's just some happy buff guy in a hero's costume who saves people.
That's a hero's job.
He's just saved more people than others have and because of he's quirk, he's stronger than others too. Other than that, there's nothing special about him. If I told anyone else that though, they'd probably have a go at me. So I'll keep my mouth shut.
Only for now at least.
