Note*!! I'm srry if this might confuse some of you but for this part of chapter 5 it's going to be in Joe's Point of view.

Chapter 5

Joe's Pov

We just got back from some pretty cool places and i'm a bit jet-legged but something in me wanted to go check my mailbox to see if Vennessa wrote back yet. I opened it and it was empty though, it was very strange considering she usually wrote back the next day.  I walked back inside and started to do some laundry.  Nick turned up the television so we wouldn't completly fall asleep and i was putting some clothes into the washer when i heard this on the news. " Breaking News, late last night was a violent shooting in San Bernadino.  15 year old Alex Stanely was shot in the head and is on life support, and 13 year old Vennessa Tyler was beaten and shot in the chest and is in very critical conition. we believe from our sources that it was a gang involved shooting,  But both teenagers were unarmed and the police have no leeds on who shot the young teens"  My heart sank, and ripped, and bled just a little.  Kevin and Nick asked what was wrong, I got choked up and told them the whole story.  How I needed to go to San Bernadino as fast as possible.  They agreed and wanted to come along.  I had no idea what to expect, How things would turn out, but that was our fan out there in a hospital bed with a bullet through  her chest.  The fans are like family to us and right now Vennessa needs us.  We drove for hours until we reached our destination.  We walked into the hospital, the mood seemed very erie and dark.  We had asked the nurse where both of the kids rooms were.  They were actually put in the same room.  I saw them both asleep.  I almost feel to my knees right then, The nurse said that her family didn't want to pay for her medical bills and disowned her so Alexs' parents paid for her.  She had a chance of getting through all of it, but Alex's chance was very slim........and she still hasn't waken up.....am i going to be the one to break the news to her?  This left me heartbroken as did my brothers.  How am i going to tell her that her best friend is slowly dieing and her family doesn't care for her anymore?  I have no clue.  I just hope she wakes up.
