Chapter 7
Joe's Pov
This morning was the funeral. Vennessa was supposed to speak at it but the doctors still haven't let her out of the hospital. I've been with her the entire time, Nick and kevin dropped by a couple of times to drop off some clothes for me. It's was just Vennessa and I though. One night she was fine one moment and then she completly broke down. I sat her down on the bed and asked her what was wrong. She calmed down enough to tell me the whole story from the beginning of her life till right now. I know possibly everything there is to know about her. How when she was little she tryed to climb out the window after a fight between her parents and ended up falling and needed six stiches. How she moved to the projects. How her family lost everything. She seemed to talk about Alex alot but whatever helped her get through it was good. there were some tears and laughes both exchanged. Then she told me about her hero. Someone who was always there for her, Who never got angry at her, never even left her side when he wasn't even there. It was me. she put her head on my shoulder again, and siad something i will never forget for the rest of my life," Joe, why did all this happen?" she said. I responded," It's only a test, it tests your strength, faith and hope but you will get through it." She looked up and smiled at me. It's been rainning for the last five days. That window has been my confort as is Vennessa but the hospital still seemed gloomy. Everyday at 2:10 the sun peeks through the clouds and shines straight through the window, straight at Nessa.
