Fernando & Ruby - We found love again.

Betrayed...Or so I felt.

"Babe, Babe, Fernando! Are you listening to me?" Ruby shouted.

Fernando jumped a little and looked at the side facing Ruby." What's wrong ,Ruby?"

Ruby rolled her eyes and took Fernando's face in her hands." Listen to me. What flavor do you want for the cake.?"

"I don't care. You can choose, mi amor." Fernando responded.

Ruby nodded and kissed his lips before walking back to where she was.

"Okay all done. Should we go home. Or do you want to go up with Sophie for a little while.?"

Ruby though about it for a second." We should go up a bit. Just to check on Sophie and see if she needs help with something. Today is usually a busy day."

"Ok. Vamonos." Fernando took Ruby's hand and together they walked upstairs to the hotel.

"Oh God. Thank God you two are here. This place is busy and I can't find Sky."

"I told you she'd need help." Ruby said to Fernando. He smiled and nodded.

"What do you need help in, Sophie?" Fernando asked.

"I need someone behind the desk and someone helping with the bags."

"I'll take the desk, sweetheart." Ruby said.

"And I'll take the bags."

"Now please stop running around and take a break. Having a lot of stress can be bad for you and your baby." Ruby said firmly. "So get your little behind resting and let us take control."

"Grandma! You are just like my mother!" Sophie said jokingly.

"I'll take that as a compliment, Sophie. Now go sit in the chair where I can watch you from the desk."

"Ok.ok." Sophie walked to the chair and sat blowing a raspberry at Ruby.

Fernando and Ruby chuckled and he walked her to the desk.

"I would love to sit and talk with you here my love but ......."

"You have to help. Don't worry I'll just stand here and keep an eye on Sophie." Ruby nodded and cupped Fernando's face in her hands giving him a deep kiss.

They both laughed in it and Fernando finally pulled back." I love you. I'll see you at closing time."

"I love you,too. Now leave before I hold you back and don't let go."

Fernando blew her a kiss and walked away. Ruby smiled to herself and looked at Donna's pictures behind her.

How will I tell him? That he'll  never see you in anything but pictures, Donna? That the only thing he will ever have of you are stories and images?

"Grandma, I'm bored. Can I at least come in here and talk?"

Ruby nodded and turned back to look at her.

How will I tell you ,too, Sophie?

"Sure honey. There's no one here anyway. It's like they stopped coming when they knew I'd be in the desk."

Sophie laughed and settled on the couch in the lobby.

"Grandma?"

Ruby hummed.

"Why?"

"Why what Sophie?" Ruby asked curious.

Sophie sat up and looked at her grandmother." Why did you never visit.? Or send a postcard? Or let my mother know were fine? My mother always thought you were dead. We even used to go up the hill on your birthday and.....have a picnic." Sophie said. Ruby pursed her lips and felt the knot in her throat." I always thought you were alive. But mom said it didn't matter. She wanted to do it."
