"we said we're sorry akaashi," you pout over the phone, as bokuto awkwardly scratches the back of his neck. the two of you still haven't let go of each other's hands. 

akaashi had tried searching for you guys, but ended up giving up and decided to call bokuto's phone instead.  needless to say, he was extremely tired. 

"heh, sorry bro," bokuto says. 

"fine, fine, i'll leave you two lovebirds alone, i have to head back home anyways. my mom wants me to help her prepare dinner."

"LOVEBIRDS-?"

"AKAASHI WE AREN'T-"

"shhh shhhh, just accept your fate and date already." akaashi shushes. "anyways, you two have fun! oh yeah," he pauses, and in a totally serious voice, he says,

"don't be silly, protect your willy." 

silence. 

"H-HUH?? AKAASHI WHAT THE FUCK?" you scream into the phone, attracting the attention of those around you. 

"o-okay, that's enough for today," boktuo quickly turns the phone off speaker mode, while akaashi continues to recite analogies. 

"cover your stump, before you hump! remember, no glove, no lov-" bokuto quickly ends the call. 

the two of you glance at each other before both your faces flare up in a blush. 

"l-let's go check out more games," you mumble, dragging bokuto behind you. 

"y-yeah, good idea," bokuto makes a mental note to kill akaashi later.

"and then, the teacher totally forgot about him, so he was left standing outside the classroom for hours!" you explained in a fit a laughter. 

bokuto laughed along with you, the embarrassing scene from earlier long forgotten. 

the two of you were in line for the ferris wheel, with mounds of food and prizes in each of your arms. 

"oh look! the sun just set," you pointed towards the skyline, where the last bit of red and orange could be seen dipping beyond the horizon. 

"mhm," bokuto nodded along with you, his mouth stuffed with popcorn. 

the two of you stood in comfortable silence, as the line slowly shuffled forward. 

"say, y/n, have you ever had a boyfriend before?"

you turned to him, eyes wide. "woah, where did that come from?"

bokuto shrugged. "i don't know, i was just curious."

you turned towards the line again. the two of you were almost at the front.

"nah." 

"how would you feel if i asked you out?" he said. 

your head shot back towards him, unsure if you had heard him correctly. "w-what?" you feel your face heat up, thankful for the dim lighting. 

"nothing," he smiles absentmindedly and nods towards the ferris wheel. "it's our turn, c'mon."

"so you've never had a girlfriend either?" 

"nope," bokuto responds as the ferris wheel slowly ascends into the dark purple sky. 

"hm," you smile, intertwining your hand with his again. 

"y/n, i'm glad i met you." bokuto says softly, leaning his head into your shoulder. 

you smile, placing your head on top of his. "i'm glad i met you too."
