Surreal (Sugawara x Oikawa)

SUGAWARA'S POV

Nationals. We've been dreaming for it for almost three years now. But this June, our chance to be on nationals for the Interhigh, ended in just a blink. That block from Aoba Johsai shattered it. Daichi, Asahi, and I are on our way home when I felt a buzz in my pocket. I checked on my phone and it was a message from an unknown number.

| Are you heading home now? Are you okay? |

I read it with confusion and tried to remember when was the last time I gave someone my number and who was it since I already saved my classmates' and my teammates' numbers. I wanted to ask these two but since we're heading in different directions, we already bid our goodbyes to each other with a bitter smile and swollen eyes. So I decided to just reply to this unknown number.

| I'm sorry but who are you? |

Not expecting any fast reply, I shoved my phone back inside my pocket. But few moments after that, it buzzed again. I stopped walking and went to the side of the way since a vehicle might pass by any moment, to read the text.

| Look in front of you. |

With a furrowed eyebrows I looked at the text longer before I decided to look in front. But I didn't expect and I don't want to see this certain person especially not at this moment. He waved with a timid smile. I walked towards him while cursing him in my mind. And I think annoyance or a pinch of anger can be seen in my face. I just know it.

"Hi Mr. Refreshing." He immediately said as soon as I reached him.

"What do you want Oikawa? And where did you get my number? What do you want from me? What are you trying to do? I'm seriously not in the mood right now to talk especially to you." I don't even know how was I able to breathe saying all those words in a flash.

He flashed a shocked face while raising his hands up in the air like he's trying to surrender.

"Woah. Just one question at a time. Chill." He playfully said which made me raise my eyebrows while crossing my arms.

He cleared his throat before continuing.

"First of all. That was such a good game. And I never expected Karasuno to have another solid setter aside from Tobio. I actually asked your number from your manager, luckily she gave it to me. Lastly, all I want is to befriend you." He said then gave me a sweet smile.

I'm confused, with the fact that why does he want to befriend me and even went out of bounds to ask Shimizu of my number. And also confused with the fact that I can't hate him especially when he smiles like that. A smile that makes me want to protect him.

"Can I ask a favor? Can you pinch me? I just want to check on something." I said while I am still processing every thing that happened this day.

He moved a little close and I decided to close my eyes 'cos I don't want to see him pinching me, but instead of pain, I suddenly felt a warm touch in my cheek. Just as I opened my eyes he moved away his lips from my cheek. I could instantly feel my whole face and even my ears burning up.

He chuckled and said, "Nope you're not dreaming."

A sudden ring echoed the room. I lazily roamed my hand to find my alarm clock. After turning it off, I pulled my blanket towards my head to block the sunlight from the window. I was about to go back to sleep when I felt a muscular arm wrapped my waist. And pulled me to face him.

"Good morning Koushi. Did you have a good sleep?" He smiled and kissed my forehead.

"I had the cutest dream." I smiled containing myself not to blush while I reminisce the dream.

He moved his face a little bit and gave me a confused look like he's asking me to give more details about that dream.

"I dreamt of the day that we started our friendship which eventually turned into this wonderful relationship. I love you, Tooru." I said then gave him a peck.

He brushed my hair before answering, "I love you more, Koushi."

It was such a nice dream. Totally different on how we started our relationship. It was October, he was on his way home after losing to us on the Spring Interhigh, I was the one who did that. I was the one who liked him first. Everything that happened in my dream was all surreal but it was wonderful.
