"I really hope you're wrong," Phantom said with dread clear in his tone.

Dash looked solemnly at him before replying, "Yeah, me too. Me too."

The hallway was dark. Even though he knew that Phantom and the others had no intention to hurt him, it still didn't extinguish the unease pooling in his stomach. All that could be heard was the clanking of metal and the soft sound of footsteps as they walked. Dash was leading, Dani was at Danny's left side, Phantom on his right, and Sam in the back. They had formed some sort of protective circle around the teenager, and that made him even more nervous than before. Whoever this 'him' was, they were certainly dangerous and strong considering Phantom and the others were considerably afraid of this being, and going as far as staying as close to Danny as they could. It was safest, he guessed.

They rounded a corner, and he noted that this part of the Parlor was unfamiliar to him. An awful rotting smell wafted throughout this portion of the building. It had appeared faint before, but now it was so strong it was overwhelming his senses. He gagged. The hallway looked old and smelled a bit damp, besides the smell of rot of course. There was dirt everywhere and black scuff marks on the tile floor. The paint on the walls was peeling and there were holes. There was also mold growing in the corners.

They kept walking and Danny had to force himself to breathe through his mouth because the scent of rot was so strong. He forced himself not to gag again. Phantom's eyes flitted around the area nervously. The usual mischievous glint was gone, now replaced with worry and fear. In a fit of nervous energy, and the need to make Phantom and himself feel better, he grabbed the animatronic's hand. Phantom seemed to relax more and squeezed Danny's hand a bit. Danny felt a little safer as well. Finally, they came to a red rusted metal door that was slightly cracked open. The door was caked with dried blood and who knows what else. There were bloody handprints everywhere. Written in blood on the walls on either side of the door were the words,

'You can't save them.'

'You can't protect them.'

'You will fail.'

'Kill them all.'

'Must destroy them all.'

'They must DIE!'

Danny paled considerably. The scent was much stronger now. No one said anything for a good minute. Dash slowly and cautiously walked to the door and gently pushed it open. It squeaked due to the rusted hinges, but not too loud. Dash peeked his head inside before his ears fell back against his head.

"I knew it. I fucking knew it. The bastard!" Dash exclaimed, but not too loud, in fear of the one responsible for this brutality hearing him. He pulled his head back from the door and gestured to the rest of them to take a look for themselves as he fumed.

Phantom walked forward first and peeked into the room before wincing and looking away.

"Holy shit."

Was all he could say before reluctantly allowing Danny to peek inside as well. The cobalt-eyed teen peeked his head into the room and his free hand shot up to cover his mouth. He immediately regretted his curiosity for wondering where the others were. He had a bit of a hero complex, which was what made him get this job in the first place. The sight was definitely disturbing, and he swallowed to try and keep himself from puking right then and there. He studied the rest of the room to distract himself from the sickening smell.

The walls were stained with blood and the floor was caked with dried and wet puddles of it. The smell of rot was destructive. None of the others were alive that's for sure. Flies buzzed around the room eating their fill and making homes. But that wasn't the worst of it. There were four spare costumes inside the room. One for each missing night guard. There was a big purple bunny, a brown bear with a tiny black top hat, a red fox with an eyepatch and hook for a hand, and the last was a yellow chicken with a white bib on that said 'Let's Eat!' in colorful letters. All four were also bloodstained and mutilated decaying bodies hung halfway out of the fuzzy suits. It was as if even in death they were trying to escape this hell. Their eyes were glassy with death and parts of their skin had rotted off. They were still dressed in the night guard outfit. One look back into those glassy eyes made it seem as if their grisly ends were Danny's fault. Even though he knew it wasn't, he still blamed himself.
